Hi i was curious what is the best Adhesive to use for any of the QK/ LS Boxes. ( pillow, popcorn, box & lids, take out ect)
I have tried a few different adhesives and they don't seem to hold very well. They eventually come apart. I don't think what i have is strong enough.
I was curious what everyone is using. THANXS

I'm sure the Score-tape will do a fantastic job in this case. It comes in different sizes to fit your needs. Check it out at Scrapyland!

I have used Tacky glue. That seems to hold very well.

What about glue dots? They make super small ones. Also there is a children's wet glue on the market that is super strong. It holds felt, foam, etc. Abby used it on some Christmas Ornaments and they are still holding up strong. You adhere it, let it dry a bit (becomes tacky) and then stick the two items (or sides in your case) together, hold, and let dry over night. I'm trying to remember what it's called...it comes in a metal squeeze container.

Disneygirl, Scor-Tape is my go-to adhesive when I need a strong hold. It's tearable, strong, and really inexpensive! Here's the Scrapyland link: www.scrapyland.com/category_s/279.htm Gail

Exactly what Gail said, I second all of it... - cheap - low-tech {meaning no scissors or dispensers, etc.} - lots of widths/sizes - non dimensional - instant drying - no waiting - strong strong strong - PERFECT for all of the boxes and edges and containers throw some 1/4" Scor-Tape into your shopping cart the next time you check out - you will LOVE IT!

I Scor-Tape! I didn't start using it until recently (first trying to use up other, older products in my stash), and it's better than anything else I've ever used. I should buy the 1/4" by the case! And glue dots are great for little, tiny spots that need a bit of securing.

It must be a good product with so many of you endorsing it! I'll have to get my hands on some soon, too. I have always been a die hard hermafix tabs/hermafix dots girl. I sold them in my shop and at the time, Michaels didn't sell them so they did well. I love the temporary dots dispenser like it was a newborn puppy. But hey, I'm always up for something new and fun, else I wouldn't be here! So I'm glad this question was asked, because I'm really into the boxes and starting to accumulate a few, and this sounds handy!

Scor-Tape is what you're thinking of - blue printing on the white paper liners. It's the best stuff. I think it is JUST as sticky as the red-liner "sticky strips" sold by like Stampin' Up, etc. but what makes Scor-Tape so much better in our books is you can tear it with your fingers. NO SCISSORS needed and therefore no gumming up your scissor blades! LOVE that I can just tear off a little snippet of Scor-Tape to tack down on edge flap of a box. PERFECT!! Although for scrapbooking, cardmaking, and most other flat paper crafting I'm an ATG girl through and through!!!

Sometimes if it's really humid or really dry, the dry adhesives just don't stick. Unless you are trying to get things apart! For favor boxes, I do try to use wet adhesive. Mostly because it's kids handling the favors (for me) and I want them to stay stuck! It's also something I make ahead of time, so I'm not always sure of the humidity (our issue here in Boston.) I have a bin of clothes pins that I use to clamp
I have the red tape, Score-tape, and ATG. Really, I think they all work about the same. I have the Scor-tape in different widths, which can be helpful. But I almost always just grab the ATG. I don't like cutting the red tape and I don't think it holds any better than the ATG. And there's tons and tons of tape on an ATG. ;D

Gail and Susan have said it all. This is my favorite strong adhesive. I have it in multiple sizes. If you give it a try, i'm sure you won't be disappointed! I've just had an interesting experience with small squares that have a very flat brad in the middle that I am putting on a layout for the recipe exchange...
The first "stick-um" that I used, because I thought it would be quick and easy was my Tombow tape runner, which has never given me problems before...it didn't work this time.
Next, I scribbled all over the square with my Zig pen, and held the square down while it allegedly stuck...it didn't.
The Best Glue Ever worked for most of them, but I'm now down to glue dots on loose corners, or (if I can pop the entire square from the page, using Scor-Tape around the edges.
Uh...Gail and the group...if these come to you with loose corners, it won't be because I didn't try! I have NO idea why this is happening! GRRRRRR!

Diane--before I type anything else--DO NOT redo your pages! If something falls off, we can reattach it. NO worries!
I've found that with any sort of dimensional embellie, you need a dimensional glue. Sometimes you get lucky with tapes working, esp if you add a few layers rather than just one pass. But for the most part, I use a liquid glue. (And the Zig pen glues don't count as liquid glue--they are too "flat!") But Tacky Glue, Best Glue Ever, Glossy Accents... Those are what I use for dimensional stuff.

I live in Florida, have for about 5 years now and don't have a problem with any of the tape mentioned. Meaning nothing has unstuck! Vicki

Don't worry, Diane! I'll track down any loose bits and re-stick (is that a word?? ;D) them before I put the books together. Don't stress out, it will be just fine!! Gail

I don't have a lot of problems with the humidity--but there was one project that I made that the paper would.not.stick. I was curving the paper and it was several layers and was embossed. I used red tape and then score tape. I finally ended up using liquid glue and rubber bands to hold it while it dried.
In hindsight, I think the problem was two fold. First, I assembled all the layers flat and then curved it. I think it was just too thick to do that--I should have assembled it curved, not flat. And, there was embossing. I think the tape adhesive just didn't have enough surface area to stick. Lessons learned!

Okay, I have none of these adhesives. I think it's time I updated my sticky stuff a bit, try some new things out! Thanks for all the suggestions and tips here, and product endorsements It's very helpful to get such a range of perspectives.

just to recap Nikki...in my book these are the ONLY adhesives a crafter needs... GLUE GUN {for scrapbooking, card making, school project assembly} www.scrapyland.com/Scotch_ATG_Tape_Gun_Pink_p/pinkatg.htmthe Scotch ATG gun is big and PINK, but the adhesive is a super-great deal. This $24.99 starts you with the gun AND two refillls. You'll be set with adhesive until Halloween! Scrapbook pages, cards, banners, school projects, quick hemming of black linen pants - LOL - works for all of it! WET GLUE {for buttons, ribbons, bulky uneven surfaces, etc.} www.scrapyland.com/Best_Glue_Ever_p/bge.htm It has a super-fine tip so it goes on really precisely. Dries clear and fast! Holds amazingly well...love love love it! And look, it matches the ATG pink gun so they look cute next to each other!! 3-D GLUE: for any project assembly that is 3-D...boxes, cones, moving or sliding cards, envelopes. Basically anything that is going to be manhandled, used or moved! www.scrapyland.com/SearchResults.asp?search=scor-tape Super pricing at Scrapy Land - one roll of 1/4" will last you for evah!!! The super wide stuff is great for covering books and things like that...but 1/4 is my go-to- size!! Tear with your fingers, wear the roll on your wrist when working on a big project so you don't lose it, and can ALSO be used to retack unstuck wallpaper from behind your stove! HAHAH - there ya go. All adhesive in one quick spot!! Now go shop and get your glue on!!!

My sister also introduced me to a glue called Crafter's Pick "The Ultimate" glue made by The Adhesive Products company. It doesn't take much to hold, it's not too wet, and seems to hold very well.
