I'm very disappointed with the IBond. Only used the unit once for a short period of time and batteries died.
Yes, they were brand new batteries and Yes I turned the unit off when I was done. I found this to be the case with the IRock as well and my solutions was to take the batteries out when not in use.

my I-Rock still has its original batteries in it. And I use that sucker all the time, it's been to band trips, football games and sleep overs with my kids - still going.
So maybe you had a dud battery OR a dud I-Bond. Have you contact Imaginesce to ask about "battery life"?
As for the I-Bond - that sucker draws some power and I was told by my dad {expert on all things, he assures me LOL} that since the tool is producing heat to melt glue sticks it's of course needing a LOT of energy to get that hot.
I just make sure I turn it off when I"m done with each step of the project...but I try and have things all lined up to do all of my gluing in one big step {flower bouquet with the Ring Around the Posey}. I made sure I had everything die-cut and laid out how I wanted them layerd, and THEN turned IBond on and THEN started gluing.
I turned it off. Then started cutting the leaves.
So I just have to remember to work smart when I'm using the IBond.
I will experiment with the battery removal trick, thanks for sharing!
But as for your IRock Dania, see if the company can give you any hints. I seriously use mine all the time and it's still going strong!!

I will look into it because I love my IRock. I use Energizer Batteries. The Ibond did recommend for long periods of use to invest in rechargeable batteries. But honestly with the IBond, I put the new batteries in - I know they are new because I had to go specifically to the store for them. I tested the unit, once I saw that it worked I shut it off. I purchased it for one specific purpose - a workshop I was holding. Well it failed and I had to run for an extension cord and hope we won't choke ourselves as we passed the hot glue gun around.
But I will contact them and see what they say. Thanks. I hate to pooh pooh this, because I love the concept.

Dania, I'll echo what Susan reported. I've used both my IRock and IBond over several months. I'm on the original set of batteries for both and they work just fine.
And I'm like Susan--I try to have all of my projects set up ahead and just turn either tool on when I'm ready to use it. And then I turn it off again immediately. I'm less worried about battery life and more worried about a fire hazard. With all the flammable paper and embellies floating around my work table, I worry that I'll forget they are turned on and hot. And that I'll burn something! It would be just like me to get inspired by something, push everything aside to clear off my work space, and then melt something. Or worse!
Try contacting Imaginesce and see what they say. Maybe there is a bad batch out there. But I've gotta say, I love these tools!

My experience has been like Susan"s: My I-rock is still on it's first set of batteries, but the I-bond is on it's third set. That doesn't surprise me, since I use it a LOT. I did notice that I can anticipate the need for upcoming battery changes by watching the I-bond light - it dims and/or flickers when the batteries get low. Personally, I still think the battery use is well worth it to have a cordless glue gun. I've owned ones that supposedly "charge" when placed in their stands, but they never worked right. I hope you get your problem solved, Dania! Gail

Well I guess it's just my luck. I haven't heard back from the company. I'll buy new batteries and try again.
