Has anyone seen this yet. I wanted to go last weekend but just too much going on to escape to the movie theater. What did you think of it if you have seen it and if you haven't are you going to?

We saw it on Saturday. It was so good! I don't think I even blinked the entire time.
We're moving next week and I'm trying to figure out how I can see it again this week. I didn't reread The Deathly Hallows, just because I wanted to just enjoy the movie without thinking what was different. But now I want to reread the book and then see the movie again.
The only thing I really didn't like was how Harry dealt with the Elder wand. Why did they have to change that part?

LOVED IT! I agree-it was the best of all the movies for Harry Potter. It had a very fitting ending, and lots of smaller role characters came out and had a kick-*** moment. Definitely grab a ticket and go as soon as you are able!

Yep me too. I reread all the way up to the very last one but held out. After the whole fiasco of the Half Blood Prince I just didn't want to be disappointed again.
I hope to go this weekend if work will let me..so exicted.

But as soon as we got home, we reread the last chapter. Yep, I really need to reread the entire book.
HBP--there was so much left out of that movie. Sigh.

I heard from friend - don't both with 3D - she said the glasses were a distraction and there really aren't a ton of uses for 3D.
save your dollars and buy popcorn!! LOL

I agree with Susan on this one. While I loved watching it in IMAX, the 3D didn't utilize a lot of its potential. It added very nice depth to the movie but they could have done a lot more. The issue here is because they didn't film it for 3D, like say how Transformers 3 was. They added it afterward, so they missed some nice 3D visual opportunities. It's nice and depth-full *ha* but nothing jawdropping. And yes, just get more popcorn instead

I hate those 3D movies with an unholy passion. The glasses hurts my ears, the movies make me dizzy, it's just a regular theater with the price increased.
I hear there are some good moments with the water in the Chamber of Secrets, the fight scene uses 3D quite a bit, and Harry and Voldy's final fight. So if you like special effects, you many opt in. I'll wait for it to come out in video. I have no desire to have that snake leap off the screen at me!

That is good to know about the 3D, personally I am not a fan of it. I forgot I have water aerobics Fri night so now looking for a Sat showing..but that's a good thing..dinner and a movie. So how long is it?

Not nearly long enough!
But it's just over two hours. I think it's the shortest of all of them. I wish they had made it longer and put in more scenes. They should have asked me!

Well just got back, all in all it was good, much better than HBP for sure but I can't understand why they did the big scene with HP and LV alone..no cheers, no yeahs..HP walking back in and I kept thinking how does anyone even know he killed Voldmort..made no sense to me.
Loved the time they spent on the Horcrux line..they needed that so badly. Love the Gringot scene and of course the Ron and Hermaine kiss. I actually liked the way they killed Nagiri instead of in the book.
The other minor Pet Peeves I had No Hagrid until the very end and very little Terrible explanation of the Deathly Hallows altogether At the end, where is Tonks and Professor Lupin's son The planning of Gringots I wish was a bit longer No Professor Sprout with her plant brigade, missed that.
Now time to go read that last book. I am glad the last two movies held more to the book than a few of the others. Nice way to end the series

The lineups here are still tremendous and only my DS and I are interested. We have a plan to go on August 11th all being well. It is the first time we both have no commitments and by then I should be feeling perkier!!! I was afraid to read this post in case someone told too much. We spent a great deal of last weekend watching 1 -7. So we are ready and since I wait to read the book after the movie I am more than ready. It was amazing the characters and things I forgot about in 1-6 than made so much more sense in #7 so roll on August 11th.

I agree! I told hubby in the car on the way home that I kept waiting for them to cheer when Harry walked back in. They knew what he did. Where was the celebration? I mean, I get it, but I was still expecting it. I haven't read the last book because I wanted to wait on the movie first and then go fill in the holes, so now I gotta get my hands on it. It was still very well done though and a nice ending.
