Wondering how you all are handling your heat wave..out here in No Calif we are so lucky with our weather. I couldn't imagine having to deal with the humidity on top of the high temps.

Handling it by staying inside and re-organizing the scraproom 96 here today - they say 100 tomorrow

we had a heat wave 2-3 weeks ago and it was 102-104 for a week but we don't get the humidity so it is very dry and hot.
luckily we are up to only 95 or so this week and next and I love the evenings as it cools down to 60s
my parents are heading back east adn driving through that heat and their A/C went out 3 days ago so had to wait til it was fixed.

Staying in and trying to use as little energy as possible. We have been in the 90-100 degrees for a week now. The corn is tasseling and this is not good. We need rain so bad and cooler weather. Don't even feel like scrapbooking. It has been hard to keep cool. I have three fans and the air on and the house is still 85. The air conditioner just can't cool enough. My husband sprayed the air conditioner coils with cold water from the hose outside and this helped some. The heat is affecting so many people. Drinking lots of water and just staying in and playing it safe. Making lots of salads.

Wisconsin is so freaking hot!!! Then I hop the plane yesterday and get to NC-no better! The heatwave just helped me transition to the south I suppose. But yeah, it's been a nightmare! Sawyer was tired of me telling him no he can't go out and play today!

Day 19 of 100 degree weather. Number 6 on the all time hottest summer here in Texas.
It's ok, you just don't spend much time outside. We are blessed with a pool, that helps.

Oh Barbara! You win. That just stinks.
It's 9 am here at it's 80 degrees and the humidity is 77%. It's supposed to be in the mid 90s today and 100 tomorrow. Poor DS is at scout camp this week--I imagine they are spending a lot of time swimming!

We have A/C, so I can't complain. I'm finishing up my recipe pages today and am inside where it's nice and cool.
I know it's hard for people without A/C, but it was only a month ago that we were in the 60s for highs. And the snow has only been gone for a few months. It was a long winter!

I work with a sales force that wears suits even in this type weather. Crazy! I understand the A/C part as I live in the central valley, CA where it does get hot but you still go in an dout of cars/buidlings, etc. I pray everyone is staying safe and drinking lots of water.

I cope with A/C which we try to run all night so we don't have to run it the same during peak times ( knowing I am going to hate the bill when it arrives) We are eating lots of fresh veggies, ( thankfully I grow some and this area is a huge vegetable growing area) salads and I cook overnight on a lower temp and slice the meat the next day. I am so thankful for my slow cooker and toaster oven. So I am saving on what we are eating and cooking late ( we pay a higher power rate during Monday to Friday 8:00a.m. - 8:00 p.m. ) or on low overnight. I also hand wash my dishes to save money and do my laundry on the weekend and not use the dryer on some things. This saves also and I am trying to keep the electrical bill as low as possible. I am considering a gas stove and dryer also for next year as I don't think this summer weather is going to take a downward trend. Our present stove and dryer are in almost new condition and would sell well. I am also going to do some canning the end of August and this Fall and have frozen a fair amount of fruit and a few veggies when I found a good price.
I am praying for rain for our farmers as some of the fall crops are just not where they need to be. We always worry for the farmers as too many farms across North America and the whole world depend so much on the right amount of rain and heat to make a living.
If anyone has anyways of staying cool and keeping our costs down lets hear from you please. We are all in this together.
