Matthew was DC'ed last night. He had a Nuclear RadioActive Isotope Scan done to look for a rare abnormality of his small bowl and stomach. Thankfully he does NOT have this condition. So that leaves us still with no answers. He does have ulcers on his colon but that produce bright red blood. As the blood travels through your intestines, it darkens. It was old blood that he passed and continued to pass. He has had so many scopes, capsule study, MRI's, etc and nothing points to the source. He had an extended hemicolectomy 2 years ago where almost 45% of his colon (large intestine) was removed. He is listed as SBS (short bowl syndrome). He is being transfered to CHOC (children's hospital of orange county) soon to their Motility Clinic. He can't eat anything as his intestines are so super slow and he gets ileus (infection) and then gets very sick. He is only on medical formula (he was TPN dependent). But we are home, he is happy and himself, and we'll just continue to look for an answer. Thanks for all the prayers gals!

I'm certain that Matthew is very happy to be home, as well as his family must be! "Home" really is the best place to be! You will all stay in my prayers, and especially praying that you will have an answer soon!
