Okay, I did get the cover off on the side w/the handle. Yep, the small gear holding the handle on is definitely toast. Large white gear has one tooth that is half missing.

Bonnie, with that info, I would definitely order the gears and try out the fix yourself. You've got nothing to lose--you will have to pay for the gears, regardless if QK fixes it or you do. I think it's $1 a gear--I just ordered the complete set. Plus a few dollars shipping.
The putzy part is the pliers that you need to pull off one of the lock rings. You need a lock ring pliers. (like that one?) An auto store like NAPA would carry it, although I have a Making Memories? kit in a metal tin that included them. They work so that when you "squeeze" the pliers, it opens the ring off the shaft, rather than pinching it shut. I hope I'm explaining this well enough.

Haven't gotten the other cover off yet. AND the directions do not go any further than the outside gears. The black gears (no directions beyond the white gears)...okay got the big white gear off and have taken out ALL of the screws on the handle side. What on earth is holding this thing together? I feel like I am doing surgery.

Michelle - I was able to pry the lock ring off with a small flat head screwdriver. Still don't know what is holding this thing together though. Either that, or I am just not being forceful enough to get it apart.
I am going to try prying the cover off the other side - since I think there are two smaller white gears on that side (according to the directions).

ooohhh... DH just said, "Oh, dear. That's undiscovered territory for us!" I'd just put the screws back, and leave it alone until you get the gears. Try the new gears and see if it works. If it does, yay. If not, go from there. I'll say a quick prayer for your Rev!

I may just put the cover back on and call it a paperweight! I have not yet been able to get the cover off the other side. Going back to reread directions...

I wondered about this, but Bonnie has the instructions. Maybe call QK in the morning--there may be someone there who can walk you through it. If the person answering the phone doesn't know, ask to speak to someone else. I'd bet money someone there knows!

OH OH, I'm sooooo sorry, and red faced. Michael just told me it was easy for him cause he has the tools to fix it. He pressed the bearings off and back on the roller. (Bonnie, I'm really sorry. I asked him how hard it was to do and he said it easy no problem....One of these days I'll learn not to ask questions while he is working on a computer.) He said, that anyone with the right tools can fix it very easily. He said you can do it all from the handle side. Cat PS....before you call it a paper weight I PMed you Bonnie

I appreciate everyone's help. For now, it will sit in pieces on my table until I can take a look at it more this weekend. I see no bearings The instructions that were emailed to me by LSC/QK - show two smaller white gears on the opposite side. I have no idea what shape they are in. And I can see that one of the black gears visible from the outside and on the sides of the bottom roller - one of them has a tooth missing. These would be the gears the small plate latches into to pull it through the Rev.
