So for me the I really have two books. HP Deathly Hallow re-read and Clan of the Cave Bear, the painted Caves
My movie for 3 weeks now waiting on me is Lincoln Laywer
So what do you have waiting...

Actually if you cancel the streaming part if you don't use it, your fees are actually lower. Or if you only stream then cancel the physical DVD delivery and you save even more. My son uses the streaming so I told him I was going to cancel. He goes back to college and only uses it when he's at home anyway.

in order to share the titles with you I'd have to take a luggage cart into the bedroom and haul the STACK of books out to the computer! Seriously - summer is usually my time to catch up on my stack of reading but SHOCKINGLY this college prep-poo-poo has made a huge dent in that luxury! HAH! However the one for book club that I need to get on has "joyful" in the title...how's that for specific details?!?!?!?

The third Twilight book. It's like reading the movie instead of watching it, lol. Practically the exact same things. And hubby and I just finally watched The Mechanic (and we are cancelling the dvd part of our Netflix acct when the price increase takes effect, we watch more streaming). Vicki

The third Twilight book. Vicki Vicki I love the Twilight series. I really resisted from reading them and then a friend lent me the first book and I was hook. I haven't read a book with that much lust and wanting without actual sex in forever. Great life lessons in each book. I was sad to have them end. I can't wait for the movie later this year. Karen

Books on hold? Hmmmm.....I just started reading 'books' again about 1.5 years ago (I read the ever-awesome Twilight Series!). Before that I only had the time, and attention span, to read a magazine article!! I was just very busy....didn't make it a priority.
On my nightstand now are a bunch of Creating Keepsakes, and a book called 'The Hot Flash Club', which hasn't sucked me in yet. I may just be slightly to young for it yet...... lol.
Movies and DVR: My hubby is always getting Netflix delivered/streamed so we can watch movies together. I think there's one downstairs right now....

I'm reading Rescue by Anita Shreve right now. But with the move, it's slow going. I'm trying to get the majority of the house unpacked by Friday before we head to MN for a few weeks.
I haven't watched a movie in months--other than seeing HP in the theater. No time lately!

I have Blockbuster online and I love it. We get new titles much faster than Netflix, and can choose video games with the movie choices. If there is a store nearby, you can swap out the mailed DVD for an instore one. There wasn't one in MA near us, but in VA there is one down the road. If you are still loyal to Blockbuster, that may be an option for you!

I don't have too many movies waiting on me. I am not that much of a movie girl, evidently.
Now books are another story. Love to read. Just read "The Help" and loved it. Oh, that is one movie I will be waiting on. I will wait until it is on DVD. I am currently reading "Goodbye Jimmy Choo". I have "Smokin' Seventeen" on hold at the library. Can't wait for it to come. Love that series!

I was going to ask if anyone had read The Help and what they thought of it. Karen As I told my mother when I gave it to her. It's not quite as good as Color Purple but it's along the same lines.

I haven't read The Color Purple, but read The Help last year. I thought it was well written. We lived in Montgomery, AL, from 2004-05 and I was stunned at the racisim that still exhisted there. And how people didn't think they were racist. It really made me think about how brave people were when they were fighting for civil rights and how dangerous it was. And I still wonder why southerners fought so hard for so long to keep it that way.
OK, off my soap box. But it was really a life learning experience for this girl born and raised in Minneapolis!
Loved Smokin Seventeen. I thought it was the best one in a while.
And the there are still Blockbuster's open in Virginia. I was happy to see that. I drove right by ours today. I went to the eye doctor and ordered my first pair of bifocals. I'm officially old!

The eye doctor had me try two different contacts--one for near and one for far. I haven't worn contacts in almost a year because I can't take them off quickly to read fine print! They do work, but I still can't see well up close. Maybe I need to skip straight to trifocals?

I have the monovision contacts, too, Michelle - one eye near, one eye far. They did take several months to get used to, but now I LOVE them! If you didn't try them for very long, I'd suggest keep wearing them. It takes a while for our brains to get used to "ignoring" the blurry eye, but once that happened to me, it was like magic - I don't even realize I'm only using one eye at a time!! Oniy drawback, it does affect depth perception, so I prefer to wear my glasses when I craft!! Good luck, hon! Gail

Several months? Well, at least for now I can take the kids swimming and go in the water with them. Esp when we are at the ocean, I wasn't going into the water because I needed my glasses to see the kids and the waves would knock them off. And they work for driving--I can wear sunglasses again. But I agree--I don't see me wearing them when I scrapbook or quilt.
