Ok so we have talked about what dies we use a lot and what dies we'd love to have. But what about dies we have but have never used or use only once in a blue moon? Do you have any dies that you just had to have and have never used? Or used only 1 or 2 times? Thought it would be fun to see what dies we all wanted to add to our collection just to have them

The A's exclusive 4x4 seahorse. I have a thing for seahorses, so just had to have it, but it's pretty cartoonish. I actually USE the Scrapyland exclusive seahorse (both 4x4 and 2x2) a lot! It's how I discovered Scrapyland in the first place! Gail

I have the 2x2 SL Seahorse too. Had to have him to add to my ocean QK die collection (dolphins, whales...)
For me the answer would be the Exclusive Dump Truck (used it once), the Exclusive Fire Engine (have never used it lol), and Exclusive Owl (again never used it, but have used his mini me the 2x2 owl).
I am going to use the Dump Truck and Fire Truck on a framed wall art project for my son's room.

I have bought almost all of the QK Exclusives and yes there are a few I have never used but just may need sometime. About 1/2 of my dies are unopened and that is not just 1/2 of the Exclusives. If I could get my mittens on a couple of Cricut Cartridges then I would get rid of many dies that are still unopened. I so bought both of Dani's Cd's and have all of them in die form so I am trying to ask myself if I really need both? Storage is one of the reasons.
I also am a Seahorse Lover and have everyone. I could fall asleep watching those things in the water as they are so tranquil. I too am a beach and sea creature collector. ( Only thing is I hate going to the beach!!! All that sand gets everywhere. I hate sandy beaches but I love rocky beaches and would love to live by the sea.

At one time, I had every single exclusive that QK/LC made. Have I used them all? Absolutely not! Nobody told me that I had to use them!

You love them and pet them and dream of what you can make. Then, when the opportunity presents itself, you have the perfect die. Whoo hoo!

I am running out of petting space though. A number of the dies I have I bought for my scrapping friends to use. I love to have people over to play but I also don't like to disappoint them if I don't have a shape that they would like to use.

I have the Scrapyland Exclusive QK Piano and Go Kreate Pegasus that I LOOOVE but never have used.
I have to admit that there have been times I've bought dies simply because I admire the design. Not just how they look, but also how clever they can sometimes be at "engineering" the layers and bits to get a great look without necessarily having to cut out a ton of pieces. That's part of why I like the piano--it has a nice, clean 3D look without a lot of fuss.
Then there are the ones that are just darn cute that make me dream up excuses to use them. Like the 4x4 superhero costume. I haven't used it, but I can dream! :-)

And... I consider dies to be tools, and good tools are always good investments for creative folk. :-)

Dies ARE tools Michelle, you are SO right!!! ;D We need a wide array so we have the right one on hand. It saves trips to the store=less gas used and pollution spewed=being green!!! We all do it to save the planet, right??? Wonder how many tools our DHs have in their workbenches that they "needed" but haven't used yet??? Gail

I refer to it as a 'collection'. My hubby knows about it, because I usually confess. He's actually the one who termed it a 'collection'!! Pam

We could be collecting figurines! (no offence to those that do!) But at least, we can use our collection!

So I was organizing my computer file of QK dies (had to add in the new one from Club Night and one I bought) and I found a few more I have not used:
2x2 fox
Club die 2x2 Crown
Club Die Heart Clip
Archiver's Exclusive 4x4 Ornament
Rev Panda (the 80's cartoon looking one...totally love it!)
Rev Reindeer (the new one, that is realistic looking)

My boyfriend was carrying a box of dies to the car for me one Christmas as I packed to go to my parents' house. He was in the army, and as he marched it out the door, I heard him mutter the comment, "geez, it's like an ammo box" I think of that every time I lug around my dies and it makes me laugh.

Funny, I was just thinking that I should sell the dies that I never use. It seems silly for me to keep them when some have been sitting in the package for years. I love the 2 by 2 dies and could never part with those, but I never reallly fell in love with the 4 by 4 style or the cokkie cutters or the 4 by 8 dies.
I know, I am going to the corner, now.

Bad girl, Jenn! You may have extra time in that corner! Never, never admit it out loud! You will love this story--we just moved and today the kids were helping me unpack the studio and were complaining about how heavy the boxes were. They found my big freight scale and they decided to weigh them. Each one seemed heavier than the last and most were between 35-50 lbs. For a box about 18" cubed. So then they started dogging me, saying "That one is full of paper. Whoa! That one is heavy--that must be die cuts." There was one about 65 lbs and they decided that one was die cuts, paper AND the Epic. Brats. Who taught them all that snark?

Oh yes! We were working in there again yesterday and DH was the one dogging me. I told him to can it--that the kids had already given me grief yesterday. But the heaviest boxes were the ones with my Jetmaxx cubes in them. Those puppies are heavy by themselves, and then full they weigh even more! I claimed our Ikea Expedit for the studio. It had been in the family room, but I decided that I needed it. I really love how the room is coming together. That thing holds a ton and it's so sturdy. I'll take some pictures later this week. And I need to go to Ikea and get another. The kids will need their own!

I am going back to the corner. I only have Paige, Marisa, Tangerine w/ Shadows, Snowday, Chopsticks, Gazebo (free at a retreat) and Haunted. It is getting sooo lonely in the naughty corner. Will someone please bring me a snack? I may be here a while. Jenn

oooo... but you have some of the older fonts. I see them on evilbay, but never for a good price. I think they were just so much new that people tend to hang on to them.
Someday...
