Pulled Pork? My boys have taken a liking to pulled pork and the recipes I have seen look a little scary. I would rather have a recipe from someone who has a tried and true method that waste good ingredients. Sorry if this was supposed to be posted in Recipes or ISO. I wasn't sure where to list it. Thanks.

I cook a tenderloin or pork shoulder (whichever is on sale) in the crockpot. I add salt and pepper to taste. When it is done, I add barbecue sauce and little water. Hubby likes the meat flavor to come through. Then, since I have discovered the joys of NC barbecue I add a bit of vinegar to give it some tangy. Sorry, it isn't an exact recipe, but I just dump sauce until it tastes good. Such a tragedy to have to keep sampling...Not! Love these sandwiches, though, they aren't the traditional recipe. Quick and easy and yummy! Good luck!

Pioneer Woman's blog has a recipe for Spicy Pulled Pork (from sometime in 2008, I think, but if you just search "Pioneer Woman Pulled Pork", it will come up). It can be made as spicy or not-so-much as you like. DH really likes this recipe!

Even though I live in NC I really don't like it, so I am no help here, but I was going to suggest Pioneer Woman as well.
Let us know how you do

I usually just season mine with some S&P and sometimes some chinese 5 spike then I just add BBQ sauce to mine as well. I do like foodtv.com for recipes. They are rated and reviewed so you can always read what others think or substituted for additional ideas.
ETA - Also if you do like a little spice you could add ~1/2 tsp or to your taste some chipotle powder.

Thanks ladies, I will check your info out. The one I have thought the best had mustard, vinegar, Chipotle BBQ sauce, Brown sugar and ketchup. I will look over all your advise and will let you know what I do. Still looking for ideas as I am making it for Saturday night. My 19 yo DS is having the guys over to crank it up. Thank goodness we put the soundproofing insulation between the floors in this home. So far we have 1 acoustic guitars, 1 electric guitars, 2 bass guitars, drums and a keyboard for sure and I hate to think what it will be like if sax comes also. The Home Association only has noise control after 12;00 on Saturday but Party Pooping Mum is calling it off at 11:00. They are all good kids and can stay as late as they want or fall on a piece of furniture. I haven't heard how many female are coming for sure yet. No Females allowed to sleep over, I will be happy to see them home.

That actually sounds like a fun time! And you know where they are and what they are doing and who they are doing it with!
I just buy the pulled pork from Costco. It doesn't have any BBQ sauce on it, but it's delicious. We are a dual BBQ sauce family, so this works for us. DD and DH like Famous Dave's and DS and I like Organicsville. Yum!

Supper was a hit. I got many " that Pork is Dirty ( or filthy sexy ) " which for you that don't have teens means fabulous. I gave the credit to my friends on a scrapbooking chat site! ( I had to explain to a few what scrapbooking was ) Thank you everyone. I went with the Pioneer Woman's Recipe and tripled the ingredients as I wanted to have lots of sauce ( which I quickly reduced to thicken after the pork was cooked ). 2/3 I out in the pork and the other 1/3 I put in a gravy boat. I used an 8 lb loin ( as I had 7 males and two females ) and the left overs will fit in a cereal bowl. I was so worried I hadn't made enough!!! I served it with Sour Cream, Lime Wedges, Guacamole with Sesame Buns, Whole wheat flour tortillas and Naan bread . I also made Caesar Salad (because everybody loves it ) 7 layer dip and Iced Tea and Root Beer. There is a ton of Ice-cream, Homemade Cookies & German Chocolate Cake and Snack food when they want it. I am all cleaned up and the rest is up to them. A couple of guys are staying over and going catch a ride to church with us in the morning. Thanks so much again!!!!

They don't carry it at the 2 Costco here in town. Or perhaps I haven't looked well enough??? Thanks!

Oh yum! Can I have an invite to your next party? I promise to RSVP and help with the dishes!
At our Costco, it's by the ravioli. It's a smaller container--about 6x8" and 3" deep? ish? Kirtland brand. I feeds our family of 4 with a lunch or two left over. The boys don't stop eating it!

You are always invited my door is always open to everyone/anyone. No need to do dishes. It is my pleasure to share what we have been blessed with and I do dishes as I go along so there is never a kitchen clean up of any size. Everyone today rinsed and put their dishes in my OPEN dishwasher. I do hope my own three caught on to that one as it usually takes a reminder. " But I have homework " is not acceptable here. What the heck I have to nag about somethings in order to maintain my Mother Status! We are having a Pig Roast in October. Now I do need an R.S.V.P. as I need to know what size of pig I need. BTW if you can a salad or dessert is also needed. You can get an exemption because of distance traveled though! ;D

Oh, luv2scrap, if California were just a bit closer to your front door, I would be at your next dinner (does this count as my RSVP? ;D)!

We put everything on our MC ( even the children's college tuition ) and it is so amazing how the add up very quickly. You would always be welcome at my door and I would just love to meet another one of my International Scrap Buddies in person. You would be #6 or #8 depending on when you come. I am hoping to meet two gals that used to be part of this group this fall. We are traveling past them on our way to Illinois late November . This is a 2 week driving holiday we are going on as we want to buy a Pygmy Hedgehog to add to our family and we will have to wait at customs till it is vet checked.
