I made a Black and white Card for an 25th wedding anniversary and stamped in Silver on the black. I used B&W Designed Card Stock for the Background and a slightly metallic Black for the 3 Rectangles. Then Stamped HA in Silver on the middle one and a few small flower on the outside 2 and added a thin black grosgrain ribbon. I wish I had taken a photo of it to share.

Very easy technique, and so useful! Thanks for doing this one, Susan! yes yes yes - it's super easy and WOW the adhesive trick is AWESOME! I was all set to tape it down {paper kept moving} and then use undo to remove the adhesive. BUT when I pulled it up VIOLA! The tape just comes with it. And since it's not stuck to paper, it's not fuzzy or destuck...it's AWESOME! Love discoveries like this - and l love sharing them! I wanted to call everyone Sunday afternoon LOL - but decided to just wait and do the video instead!

I agree-I think for me, that was the best part of the whole thing! No residue.. like using those silicone baking mats on the cookie sheets instead of parchment paper... no cookies sticking! "It's a good thing!"

Susan does Dani have the teflon sheet? I just got my Distress tool and pads so have not got to use them but will soon. Haven't had much time to play lately. thanks for the video. I agree about having more than one tool so will purchase at least one more I think to speed up the process. Do the pads just dry up and then do you store with your ink pads? Deborah

Deborah GREAT questions...I should have included a little more info with my post. Might go back and edit it... Here is the Bazzill Splat Mat - www.scrapyland.com/Bazzil_Splat_Mat_p/bazzil.htmthis one is really nice! It's about twice as large as mine and it's cute with scallopy edges! I use my mat whenever I am using Glimmer Mist, or anything have to do with ink or paint that is going to go off of my project. But in conjunction with the Distress Ink pads it's WONDERFUL! And technique is important I think to get the blending to look smooth- start "scrubbing" in circular motions off the paper, on the teflon, and swirl onto the paper. That gives you a nice darker edge, and a blended center. I keep my inky pads in a ziplock baggie - nothing too high tech, just easy. I don't have a problem with any colors leaking onto other pads because the ink is just about dry when I put the pads away. The ink is water based, so it dries quickly! My goal is to get a bunch of handles so I can have one handle for each color collection I have. It's just easier than swapping out the velcro pads each time. My fingers were completely red by the end of my project yesterday - LOL! Usually though I leave the brown pad on the handle all the time - it's the color I use most often so the pad is always ready to go! The pads don't dry out - but they will eventually start to shred apart. Like an edge will rub off or when you're blending, or the velcro blue part just gets too fuzzy to stick to the handle anymore. I have some that I've had for ages...blue and orange, for instance. Original pads on those since they don't get used as often. But brown and green {shock!!} I replace every couple of months! Anytime I need just a few more dollars in my cart I just throw in another pack of foam pads. www.scrapyland.com/Inkssentials_Ink_Blending_Tool_Foam_p/ibt23623.htmAnd just remember - FOAM pads are for the Distress Ink pads and the FELT pads are for the Alcohol Ink bottles my weak mnemonic device for remember this "rule" is FOAM has an A so does PADS {ink pads} FELT has an E so does BOTTLES {alcohol ink bottles} it's a stretch, but I can usually remember it when I need to explain it or describe it or purchase replacements!
