Okay, Divas... It's that time of year when all sorts of new goodies are being released in time for the holidays, and there will be all kinds of "sneak peeks", some with manufacturers' permission and some that are not.
This is Dani's website, and he sells all of the things that we want and "need" and that we ask him to get for us. These things help him to pay his bills, too. He's terrific about finding deals, and we repay him by spreading the awesome Scrapy Land name, and by NOT spreading rumors on the MBs that could possibly get him or Scrapy Land in trouble. (Some manufacturers can decide to be rather punitive to a store...LSS or online...that violates their policies about sneak peeks).
Posting information on the SL board that we've heard elsewhere, or providing a link to another site is ever-so-slightly tacky. Dani pays for us to have this message board - so let's keep the rumor mill to a minimum.
If we learn about a new product, maybe we could shoot Dani an email and ask him if we can put the information on the MB...before we start posting.
This is just a thought, because we all love to know about the "latest and greatest"!

Well said, Diane!!  It's easy to get carried away in the excitement of the moment, but hopefully we can all stop and think before posting something that could cause Dani grief... truer words never spoken Diane! Thank you! Scrapy Land rocks, and we are rule followers. Rumors and hear-say need to be kept to a minimum because unlike a brick-and-mortar store, what we say around here is written down. Proof is easy to find. And gosh, manufacturers can get testy!! Scrapy Land is the place to be - nice matters, and truth matters! Now let's get scrappin'!!  |

Diane, I'm with you. Scrapy Land is a gem in the rough and I want it to be around for a long time and for Dani not to get any grief over anything that we say here on the MB.

I've wanted to say this many times but couldn't figure out the right words but you said it perfectly. Love all that Dani provides for us, we really are spoiled! Thanks for all you do Dani!

Did I miss something because beside someone having to go to evil bay to find something Dani doesn't have or didn't have ( he has now brought in some new lines that I have had to buy in the UK that cost me more than what I will now pay Dani : I would think that is a plus for Dani and Scrapy Land. ), I don't remember seeing anything. Unless it was posted today as this is my first chance to be on-line today I think?  I think so.  I am going to see what else was posted today unless it has been removed??? |

You haven't missed anything! It just occurred to me that since the holidays are just around the corner, that it would be very easy to accidentally share information that could potentially get Dani in trouble and/or we'd see our great deals disappear! |

Since I discovered Dani's SL, this has been my only source for most of my crafting supplies......I buy only supplies Dani doesn't carry from brick-and-mortar stores. (that was mainly special paper....) My hours at work are such that stores would be closed before I could make it there. So that only leaves Saturday for shopping in them......It's so much nicer spending my time shopping with Dani........ its nice, calm, quite, well organized, with the best prices and lots of sales.....besides if I forget something I can always zip back in and throw stuff in my basket......not to mention Susan's blog and the MB with all the enabling, tips and how to's. I don't want anything to cause trouble for Dani and SL; but I do realize we can innocently say something without thinking; not even realizing it can cause problems. So I agree with Diane we all need to think about what we write for Dani's sake..... besides keeping Dani's and SL's reputation "stellar" is in our best interest too Cat |

I like how you said that, Cat! I, too, have purchased very little from local stores. There usually isn't anything I can't wait a couple days to get (though of course I gotta have it right now!), and most often if I do need something locally, it's adhesive refills!
I agree completely, and of course with everyone else. I know I get excited and want to come here and post and tell my friends or ask questions about certain things. Like all of you, I certainly don't want to be the cause of or run the risk of any negative impact that would have on SL!
I'm sure this reminder will help us all keep an eye on how we approach things. Thanks!
