Re: Snowflake Border
Yesterday I saw the snowflake border at my one and only remaining LSS. It appears to me that they foamed it backwards. The owner said she had trouble getting it out of the die without tearing it, when she punched it for her display board.
Any thoughts on this! I am thinking I am going to buy it and refoam it if that is the case. Just asking to see how far off the track I am in my observation and thought.

Well, Mary, I'm not Susan, but I hope you don't mind me answering your question. The Snowflake border was one of my die assignments for the DT. Like you, when I received it I thought the way it was foamed was pretty strange... There's foam in the nooks and crannies, but not over the actual flakes! I was considering re-foaming, but decided to try a cut first. Things worked out fine for me though - the flakes have large holes in the center of the die that don't cut, but allow you to poke out the die cut. There is one flake with no "poke-hole" that I had a bit of trouble with the first time, but the more I cut it, the better it seemed to come out. Anyway, that's my too-long answer that I don't think you'll need to refoam. But of course you always can, if it seems too sticky to you. Seriously, though, get the border. It is really lovely, and you won't regret it! It's one of my favorites in this release. Gail

what Gail said! the foam is in interesting spots - but I just went for it...and it worked okay. See the blog post I did on Monday... www.scrapylandblog.com/blog-home/2011/9/19/to-be-or-not-to-be.htmlthe snowflake die is shown toward the bottom of the post so scroll down. In the center of each large snowflake is a big hole, and I just poked my finger tip in the largest ones, and grabbed an eraser from a pencil to poke out the others. the one smallest snowflake held on the longest, but once I had both the left and right edges free the small snowflake lifted out. I would think that refoaming it would be fine - just remember to peel out the existing foam! Maybe I'll try that next week and see how it works out!

Thanks for your answers ladies . I really like the die and have it on my Christmas list, along with the Cameo.
