One of my very good friends at work is turning the big 5-0 today and we're throwing him a birthday party tomorrow. I would love to make him a banner but not sure what to spell out. I came up w/: Loosing One's Youth. It's tooooooo long. Do you ladies have any other ideas as to what to spell out? Everything is going to be in black of course we are in mourning tomorrow. I'd appreciate your assistance!

Ana, "Over the Hill" is often used, and is a bit shorter.. Gail

Well, I do love me a banner!
You could use Losing One's Youth. Just put "Losing" on one flag, "One's" on another and "Youth" on a third. If you want to make it longer, you could spell out just "Youth," add "50," use some pleated rosettes or the pleated stars that Susan used last summer. Easy and quick!
You could spell out his name, Happy Birthday, Over the Hill, The Big 5-0, etc and just spell a word out on each flag. That way you aren't making a ton of pennants and you can control the length a bit more.

How about incorporating some caution tape on the banner with 50 yr old ahead...or recycled teenager..or giant letters spelling out OLD? Maybe use another word like old coot or codger???

Thanks Ladies! ;D OMG! I love them. We did think of Over the Hill since its a classic, so one of my co-workers voted it out and that's where Loosing One's Youth came out. I really like Your a Classic and my favorite so far is Recycled Teenager. LOL!!! That's just wrong!!! I LOVE IT!!! But we have to vote on this so hopefully it wins. Thanks Michelle for the great tip!

I always like the shopping reference, which may not apply as much for a man, and is probably too long...
I'm not 50, I'm $49.95!
Cracks me up every time!
Good luck with your vote. There are definitely some fun suggestions here!
