I just found out this morning that the husband of a really good friend of mine is going in for surgery today for what they think might be testicular cancer. I cried when I read her message. This is THE nicest, most amazing family I know. PERIOD. They are SO in love, REALLY, TRULY in love, they are so funny together, and they have the most amazing daughter. They do so many things together as a family which I think is so awesome. I do NOT know ANY other family that does this. They just don't deserve this.
Why do these things happen to the most incredible people? I'm just hoping and praying that it is NOT cancer and he will make a full recovery and they can get back to being the amazing family that they are. If you have a minute today, PLEASE think of him. His name is Rick.

Unfortunately cancer is a very ugly and horrible disease. My thoughts and prayers are with their family. Hopefully it's non lymphoma or isolated. So sorry to hear this.

Having lost a husband and a close friend to cancer, I can say that cancer doesn't choose a person based on how ideal their family is. And I have often wondered why just the "bad" people aren't stricken with terrible diseases or other misfortunes.
I'll repeat a saying that I've posted before: "Life isn't fair, but life isn't fair for everyone...therefore life is fair."
My thoughts and prayers are for this family and their friends.

Diane, I'm quoting those words to my kids. Wise words indeed.
