Does anyone have trouble getting the 4x8 plates into the storage sleeves? I got the all in one sleeves that have 3 slots and I can only get a plate into the far right hand slot. I have had this problem with single 4x4 sleeves also, the plates just don't fit. Yes--there was a batch that were too small. Call Lifestyle Crafts and they should replace them for you. BTW--I store the 4x8s differently now, but when I was using the storage sleeves, the shop owner gave me a great tip. Use the 4x4 sleeves and just put the 4x8 die in the lower pocket. That way, you have more options for how to use the sleeves and it's easier to get them out. And you can store one of the Scrapy Craft fonts in the upper pocket, too!

Some of the first storage sheets were too small, and LC (then QK) replaced them with no questions asked. I hope this works for you, too!

I store mine in zippered CD cases, they fit nicely in the bottom slot, leaving the top slot available for a 4x4 alphabet from Dani! Karen

You go Deborah! Great organizing and great pics! I took pictures, but need to stay home one day and upload them. I've been stuck at the house for weeks with contractors and now I'm running around town like a crazy woman trying to get everything done. I was going to stay home today, but DD called about 5 minutes after getting on the bus, saying she forgot her PE shoes. I ran them over to the school and decided to just do errands since I was dressed and all. It's supposed to rain tomorrow. Maybe I don't really need to go couch shopping and I should just stay home.

Deborah, great shot of you die storage.
What is in the containers in the second picture?

For those of you who kept the cards (picture of the die) from when you bought them .... How do you store those cards? I have kept most of my cards and store all sizes alphabetically (separated by 2x2, 4x4, borders, nesting) so that when I'm looking to see if I have that specific die, it doesn't take me so long to find out if I have it. For the 4x4 cards, I'm thinking about using large index card binders - or a binder with a larger ring that would hold a ton of cards! Right now I just have them stored alphabetically in a CD crate. It works - I just think I might like it better if they weren't able to get out of order. But I'm at a loss for a better way on the others. Thanks for your ideas!

Most of my cards are just alpabetical in a box. My borders cards and cookie cutter cards I have punched a hole in the corner and have them on a large metal ring like a key chain. You can flip through these and they can be added to. Karen the boxes in the middle are the plastic boxes I bought at Staples. Box 1 is QK borders 1-23, Box 2 is 24-49, Box 3 is 50-70, Box 4 starts Lifestyle borders-#13-69 and Box 5 is for current ones. Box 6 is my custom borders. I split them up so they were not so heavy and easy to go through. The third row has some projects in. If I am doing some cards in quanity or a project I just put all the dies and pieces in the box until I get it done. the bottom has all my Santa's workshop in. I got all the pieces of wintergreen, sugar plum and peppermint all in one box. The boxes on the far right are empty. The bottom are box one photo's sorted by month or theme. Two are full of my wood stamps by catergory, (valentine, easter, spring, halloween, thanksgiving, fall,Christmas) The other photo box is getwell, graduation, birthday, sympathy, wedding, anniversary, Hi, Hello, thinking of you stamps.

Just an update on this topic... It isn't always the storage sheets that may be the problem...sometimes it might be the actual die! I was putting dies away this morning (something I should have been doing, starting several weeks ago!), and discovered that not all dies are exactly the same size! Some are larger by just the teeniest bit, but that's enough to keep them from going in the pockets closest to the inside edge. I was able to get them into the outer-most pockets (away from the holes for the binder). Just so you all know...

I keep the cards only for the exclusives, and they're on binder rings, stacked on a shelf. I've also start this system for the SL Die-Versions.
I print out pictures of the dies from either SL or LC websites and put those in the EZ storage pockets with the corresponding dies.

I discovered the quickutz site has a template for storage. you type in what you have and an image comes up and you drag it on to the screen, then you can print it out. www.quickutz.com/EZThis is so cool. I have tried to drag the images into 2x2 boxes, but they don't seem to stay in the boxes and/or overide another one. Is there something I am doing wrong?

I have a few questions about the storage pocket sheets that Scrapy Land sells for the 2x2 dies. Are the dies hard to get in and out of the pockets? Are they so loose that you worry about the die falling out? The QK binder pockets are really tight, making it hard to get the dies in and out - I've cut my finger a few times. I've been working on my QK storage - thanks to many of you for posting your reply and pictures. It's amazing to see how everyone organizes - such good ideas! I love it!!! I'm down to the 2x2 dies, saving the hardest (because I have so many) for last! I will share pictures when it's complete.

I use the 2x2 storage pockets for my 2x2 dies. I like them a lot better than the QK binder pockets. I was having the same issues with cutting my fingers. The pockets are loose enough that I haven't had any problems with them falling out I personally think they fit perfectly. They are A LOT cheaper then the QK pockets too. You get 20 dies on one page. Dani has them for such a good price.
One of the gals on this board suggested using a 5 Star zipped binder that you can get at Wal-Mart or Target. I grabbed one of these and it works great! That way you don't have to worry about the dies ever falling out. Plus there is extra zipped pockets on the binder for other things that you would like to store.
I hope this info helped!

For those looking for an easy way to catalog (most of) their QK dies, try this site: quickutz.com/qk2/accessories/referenceCard.aspxIt works better in Firefox or older browsers than IE8 and later. But it is the quickest way to catalog, if you can get it to work. I catalog 2 ways: by die number (how I have everything stored) and by theme. So I just make 2 copies from the web site above, then I know by the die number where to look for it. BTW, what does this mean: "the Wendyful book from Dani"? Also, Overstock.com has Magpie tins at the moment.

...BTW, what does this mean: "the Wendyful book from Dani"? ... There is a book which catalogued all of the Quickutz dies until some time in 2010. It's called the "Wendaful Guide". When it was first published, Dani sold it here on the website...I didn't look to see if it's still there or not. If not, you may be able to do a Google search, but I'd start here first. HTH

revisiting this Organization thing again. Particularly for storage of 4x4 dies- How do you store 4x4 dies? Have you found a plastic sleeve that works for these dies and fits into a 3 ring binder??

I wish I could find some, Cindy!! CD pages will work, but all I can find are 2-pocket ones... I bought a box of 4 pocket ones, but the pockets were rounded at the bottom, so the dies wouldn't slide all the way in! Whose brilliant idea was THAT???!!! I admit, I gave up on the idea!! Gail

Does anyone have the We R Memory Keepers (I think that is the name) albums that have the different pocket sleeves?? there is one that is a 12x12 sheet with 9 pockets. They list as 4x4 pockets but I was wondering if a 4x4 die would fit or if it would be too large for the pocket???
I also am going to try to sew some clear page protectors myself and see how that works. I will let you know. Thanks, Cindy

Cindy, that's a great idea! I think I have some of those, but I'm not at home. I'll be home Saturday afternoon and can check then if no one else has the protectors.

well sewing the plastic was stupid!! It looks like I sewed it not the nice neat look that I am going for. It would work in a pinch but then I would have to sew a ton of sheets!! Thanks Michelle, I will wait for you to get back to me. Cindy

I'm going to a local store here, tomorrow. I'll ask there and see if they have the protectors. Maybe we can convince Dani to do another special order.

I keep all my alphabets in the plastic silverware trays that you can purchase at Walmart and other places. It is a similar idea as the Magpie tins without the lid. I love storing alpha's this way because I can grab the letters I need then put them back. They are alway out and in front of me so I use them more that when they were in a binder. My shapes I keep in the all in one binder because I want to see them quickly. Many times when I am flipping through the pages I will see a shape that will work for something else. A wheel that may look like a gear, a bell that will work for a dress etc. I store my 4 x 4 in the same type of baskets as my alphabets except the basket is approx 4 x 5. I save the card that comes with the die and use that to separate the dies then I have a reference card for what I have and also how it is suppose to go together. I always need that visual for most of the detailed dies. Please tell me how to post pics and I will post some for you to see.

Reporting back... The 4x4 dies DO fit in the WRMK protectors. I tried the ones with nine 4" pockets and they fit really well. What I didn't do was fill the page--sometimes that snugs them up quite a bit. But I didn't think of that until we were at lunch. There was also another brand of pages--CropSpot? that were for regular sized 3 ring binders. Those may work, too. I took a picture and will post it tomorrow. It has some possibilities... I was at Scrapbook Too in Bloomington. Great store and a really friendly staff. The clerk was very willing to help me figure out if the page protectors would work, even though I wasn't buying them. But I did buy plenty of paper!
