whoooo-hooooo! Just spent a few minutes this morning trying to figure out how to label my Distress Inks - the only thing I don't like about these inks is the fact that they stack so neatly that I have to unstack them all to find the color I'm looking for! I was working on a Fall Frenzy tute last night, using Avery Mailing labels {hint, hint} and this idea hit me like a TON OF BRICKS!! Oh my gosh - this is awesome in my opinion! Now my stack can sit here and I can easily reach over and grab the color I want. From top to bottom I have labeled here: Tumbled Glass Old Paper Peeled Paint Shabby Shutters Barn Door Worn Lipstick Spun Sugar Spiced Marmalade Wild Honey and Dried Marigold I have some new colors today coming from Dani and I can't wait to get them labeled and start playing!!! hahaha - its takes such little things to make my day! LOL

Great oranizational idea. Do you store yours upside down?
And then you have the three new colors coming from Tim!
Gotta love having Distress inks easily accessable!

*runs out to buy every size of mailing labels Avery makes*
That's a great idea, Susan! It can work for any inkpad situation.

actually Nikki - I just swiped the ink across the mailing labels I had on hand {any size would work} and then used a golden-oldie hand punch that just punches a rectangle. But I think lots of 2x2s would have the same little rectangle shape - like the party hat, and some of the house pieces {mailbox, toilet, etc.} - if it's a rectangle and fits on the edge of the ink pads, it would work. But what I love about the Avery labels is they are super-sticky! And yes - I usually have mine stored upside down over in my ink corner where all of my Stampin' Up ink pads are in a standing case...this stack just stands in front as they are my most-used inks. I want the mail to come right now - I"m not very patient!!! LOL

I got my avery labels out also. Good idea to swipe and then know what one you want. They sit by my Stampin up ink pads also.

I was hugging my new timmy distress inks after I got home from scrapbooking today Such beautiful colors. I was scared though cause the box was rattling but his assistant threw in some of those wooden number circles in there (ohhh didn't have any of those). Was happy it wasn't a smashed up set of ink pads, lol. Vicki ps. off to label my ink pads like Susan!!!!

What a great idea! I have a sheet of CS with all the colors swiped on it, but that's a great idea to lable the actual ink pads. I know I gravitate towards Walnut Stain, but it always looks too dark on the label. It would be good to have the real color there as well.
