I HATE YOU!!!! For the love of Pete!! I have a couple of very curly-uppy mats after cutting 100 triangle boxes. Super duper annoying. Why isn't the Epic 6 just a wider Revolution? Corey says to me "Just flip it over every few times and it will flatten itself out" so I showed him the Keep this Side Up imprint and he shrugged and said "Whatever" lol that warning wouldn't have stopped him from doing it. I just didn't have the time to flatten one between some books because that takes like a couple hours and I had to get these things done!! Is it just their way of upping the sales for flex mats? I mean really. So aggravating!! Now that they are all cut though, I can move on to stage 2 and I will find a new complaint, I'm sure.

okay - calm down! take a deep die-cutting breath! it's going to be OK!! first of all - I flip my mat all the time! To heck with their "their side up" - flip it - trust your husband! he's right! {this time!} second of all - toss your flax mat into the oven on a cookie sheet at about 250° for a couple of minutes - trust me! it's awesome! don't worry - don't panic! Flex mat is a fickle creature, you have to know how to stroke it to keep it happy! but once you know the tricks - all will be fine!!

Thanks boss Corey wanted me to pass on "I told you so, Nikki!" The other side just didn't feel like it was the same texture so I didn't want it to, I don't know, smush my dies or something and I was a little afraid to try it. So, I feel gobs better now! Also, I'm not allowed to operate things like ovens or handle utensils such as knives, lol, I'm too clumsy!

Follow Susan's advice! It will save your sanity. I just had a bake off last week with all my mats. I have a ton of them because I dind't know the baking secret and kept buying new ones. The good news is that I have a ton of mats and can go longer between baking--the bad news is that I have a ton of mats!

here in AZ I can just toss them out on my glass top patio table and in a couple of hours they are perfectly flat. but I experimented with the oven last winter and it works just fine - only takes a few minutes...

That's just it. When it's nice and summery (which is for about 2 weeks per year in WI) I would put it by the window and go do something else, but it was both dark and I was in a hurry so that just wasn't an option lol. But after a decent night's sleep I was able to calm myself down and move on. lol

I "bake" my Flex Mat, too! I've put it outside on the concrete patio in the summer, and that's worked, but the last time I did that, I came back to get it, and a small lizard had claimed it to enjoy the sun (guess he didn't have a beach towel)!

Ahhhh! I never thought about baking my flex mat. Like Nikki I hate it. Just a wider Revolution with metal gears would have suited me just fine; but "No we got the Epic Disaster" Sorry but I still haven't got over the fact we spent money on something that was such a disappointment; and their fix was just as disappointing. I know I'm crying over spilled milk and water under the bridge.....I just love my Revolution; wish it had metal gears so I don't have worry about stripping them out. I so hoped the Epic was that machine. Susan's idea of baking the mat does make using the Epic a little better. Cat
