My 16 year old daughter is having a Halloween Party with her friends and she wants me to serve creepy food and to get ideas for Fear Factor game. I know you creative ladies will be able to help me. Thanks in advance!

I love Halloween-themed food. There are a ton of ideas out there; do a search on the internet. Also, I have seen a lot of magazines on the stand this year featuring Halloween foods. And I think some great sites are Family Fun Magazine familyfun.go.com/Kraft Foods has a Halloween Recipe section www.kraftrecipes.com/recipes/holidays-and-entertaining/holidays/halloween/halloween-recipes.aspxIf you feel like signing up at Pillsbury, they have a section too. The link was huge, so I will let you search that one. Yesterday on The Today Show, Martha Stewart made broken glass cupcakes. She took sugar and melted it, to hard crack stage, then broke it and added to frosted cupcakes. She melted cherry jelly then drizzled it over the "glass". Pretty creepy and gory, my teen boys would love it. I bet you can find the exact details on her site or The Today Show site. Good luck! Crafty Girl

my traditional Halloween pot-luck dish, that is always a hit with the kids and parents alike, is "Brains & Eyeballs".
I have Trader Joe's stores in AZ - and they sell corkscrew pasta. Not rotini - but a real noodle that is like a hallow spaghetti tube, corkscrewed. It cooks up FUNKY! I turn that into a very soupy mac-n-cheese recipe - {basically with a white alfredo sauce that I've added some cheese whiz to - I know, not healthy - but hey, it's Halloween!}
So you've got a soupy pot of corkscrew pasta that looks like brains, then I add two big bags of party sized meatballs {that I also get at TJs, and are a bit bigger than nickel sized - definitely small one!}
okay and then last year, since so many of our kids are now older - I mixed in one small can of chopped pimento...LOL!! "Bloody bits"
Mix all of that together - and it's basically mac-n-cheese with meatballs - but oozy and gooey and with a fun place card to warn everyone of "eat slowly - beware of bloody bits"
HAHAH! I love goofy Halloween food...

You guys sound like you have had some fun times. We never were able to put much emphasis on Halloween. I think the most I ever did was make orange frosted pumpkin cookies and orange food coloring in rice krispie treats. I pretty much stuck to caramel apples and pumpkin pie. Not much other stuff went on. Sounds like some fun meals were had.

Susan those are great! And since my daughter is a vegetarian she should like them, but the silly girl isn't much for vegetables, she is more into cheese and pasta!! I love the brains and the bloody bat ears!! She wants to have a Fear Factor Game at the party to see who will eat the disgusting food!
Thanks everyone for some really great ideas!! Now I have to get busy!

I was going to suggest Family Fun. They really have great ideas! Check out this website. They have some really, really gross ideas on there that would make great Fear Factor food. Check out the potty idea. Gag! www.divinedinnerparty.com/halloween-food.htmlOne year for one of the class parties, we did a gross anatomy lab. We had paper bags and boxes with just an opening for their hand. They had to put their hands inside the bags and try to figure out what they were touching. Or you can just label the boxes. Fun! Cooked spaghetti with a bit of vegetable oil: gross guts Peeled grapes: eyeballs Jello with fruit bits: exploded brain Pretzel sticks lightly soaked in water: rubbery bones Dried orange peel: dried skin Small peanuts: teeth Corn silk, dried a few days: hair Dried Cranberries: scabs Cooked rice: maggots

I found some gummy eyeballs in ice cube trays where you just add water and then freeze them ~ I think they will look really good in the Witches Brew!
Thanks!!
