What a crazy day. It's been snowing all day! The news just said we had 7" already. It's waaay too early for this. It's a really wet snow so it is very heavy. There are large branches down in our yard and we can see them down in several of our neighbors yards as well. Its kind of creepy when you hear the branches splitting before they break and fall down. Our power already went out once and its back on now but the lights are really dim. Not a good sign! I am hoping it stays on long enough for dinner to finish cooking. Fingers crossed; I'm starving. Maybe you should have called it Winter Frenzy Susan. Phyllis

The snow is heading my way up the Eastern seaboard. We are supposed to get 6 to 8 inches of heavy wet snow and 40 MPH winds. I usually do laundry on Sunday, but am trying to do a few loads tonight. I am sure that we will lose our power as well.

Aw, Phyllis and Jenn! When the sun comes out, go make a snowman for us! In the meantime, stay warm and safe!

Funny, I was just thinking about building a snowman. The last snowman I built got taken out by my landlord when he hit a patch of ice backing into the driveway. He came in holding the carrot nose. We had to have a snowman funeral.

Phyllis and Jenn, I hope your power holds out. You need the heat. We had snow here today, too. Only flurries, but it rained all day. My parents are here and we were going to DS's football game but it was canceled. Thank God! It was 36 and snowing at 10am. Stay dry and warm. And definitely build a snowman for the trick or treaters!

And to think we were complaining about 50 degrees! But we've been complaining since the sunshine left!

The power held on and I was able to scrap tonight. Whew!! Two more large branches did fall down from our trees tonight though but it did stop snowing.

Well I guess I have a different perspective because where I live in Oregon, we're lucky if we get 2 inches.

Can't believe you had such an early snow! Glad your power held out, and you could have dinner and scrap. It hit us early yesterday as rain - thank goodness!! Hopefully, it will all melt away soon, and you'll have a bit of Indian Summer - that warm spell before winter really arrives. Gail

So sorry to hear of the early snowfall. I think northern WI may have got some. We are way south almost to ILLinois border ao today a few sprinkles but a cool Fall Day. I am so not ready for Snow. So stay away a few more weeks. Take care all on the East coast. Deborah

Glad to hear your power held out and luckily no branches through the house or car.
Hopefully this was a bizzare storm and you will get some sort of fall season back..ITA too soon to start thinking winter just yet.

my daughter is anxiously awaiting the first snowfall in Nebraska. She has never seen snow fall from the sky. She's been in it, and played in it, and seen it drifted, but NEVER seen it fall. SO she's waiting patiently. I told her "don't rush it"...LOL On the other hand we are in 90 degree weather, AC still on in the car but finally windows open in the house. Only a tad warm in the afternoon. My tomatoes are all about the size of golf balls, and the gardenia bush is about to bloom - can't wait! Hope the snow is quick to melt - there is still too much fall to enjoy!

How CRAZY STUPID is it that Cody has a snow day tomorrow--on HALLOWEEN!! NEVER in my life have I seen snow on Halloween before!!
But, I was dreading shoveling out and really can't because this horrendous right side/lower back/flank pain is SO bad it's taking my breath away. So how HAPPY was I to look out the window this afternoon and see almost ALL of the snow MELTED!! Glad I didn't kill myself and waste time clearing out!

I got an email from our old Boston school and they are closed for the day too, Sheila. None of the schools have power and there are downed lines in the town. What a mess! My kids are bummed that we don't live there anymore, but I feel bad for the younger kids. Those Halloween parties are so much fun for them!
