Karen, are you talking about the exfoliating body scrubs that have either sugar or salt crystals mixed with essential oils?? I've never made them, but have used commercial products - they're wonderful for knees elbows, and tootsies!! Gail

I guess as well, they are great on your hands and feet during the winter months and as an added bonus a great way to clean up hands from crafting. I guess I am off to google recipes. I was thinking they would make nice gifts for friends. Thanks Karen

Karen a lady at work made sugar scrub for everyone in our department. It was very nice. I asked her for the recipe when I seen your request here. She said the got online at a site call "pinterest" (I'm not sure about the spelling but that how what she said sounded to me ) She said it's a site where you have to be invited to...... ... what that is all about I have no idea. (as you know I don't venture for from SL's sites since I'm not great with computers) I hope this helps; but I guess there's the invite issue....maybe you know someone you can invite you. My family has always call our toes "tootsies" too Ana and Gail. Cat

Thanks for all the help! Will check the recipes out. Great idea for the lemons. Lemon drops or scrub-what to choose.
Gail, I'm on Pinterest as well. It is addicting and I only get on there when I have the time, as time flies by! lol!

Karen,
The link that I used for the sugar scrub doesn't work anymore. It's been a few years...
If DD decides to do a sleepover for her birthday, this would be a fun activity. We did all that for a scout sleepover back when they were in 4th grade and it was so much fun. I just set up stations and let them roam. Easy and relaxing!

Well I have made some and have a recipe if you still need it , just let me know..it's pretty basic. You can do sugar, salt or coffee.
I think I still might have a picture of what the final product looked like. I gave these to co-workers as gifts one year.

Leslie, that would be great if you could share your recipe. Thanks Karen Ok here it is..super easy. Use whatever Fragerance Oil or Extract you want, I did Peppermint. Sugar Scrub 1/2 Olive Oil (any kind like Almond, Coconut, etc will work except Baby Oil) 1 C Sugar (any kind, or use salt or coffee) 10 drops of peppermint extract (or whatever aroma you would like, orange, lavendar, rose, etc) Mix sugar and oil together, then add in extract. That's it! I also have a recipe for bath fizzies (aka bath bombs) and lip balm. Here is a couple of photos of the scrubs that I gave out.

Leslie, these are beautiful - what great gifts!! I'd love the recipes for bath bombs and lip balm too. (Hint, hint, hint!) Thanks for sharing!! Gail No problem. The Lip balm is easy enough but the bath bombs is just a wee bit involved but honestly as a person who had no idea what I was doing..I was able to pull it off. Lip Balm 1 TBSP Beeswax Pellets 2 TBSP Carrier Oil 2-6 drops of Flavor Oil (add more drops for more flavor) Lipstick Shavings for tinting (whatever color you want) Melt beeswax and carrier oil together. Can put in a glass jar with a lid and warm in a pot of water. (Please note it is wax so whatever you use will get coated with the wax) Mix in oil a few drops at a time until desire flavor/scent Add in lipstick shaving. Pour into metal tins or container of your choice, let cool about 1 hour. (Have to say those tiny tins are great from Prima or Maya Road if you have collected any through out the years) Here is a photo Bath Fizzies (no picture - Sorry but forgot to take picts. Basically I put them in a clear cellophane bag and tied it with ribbon and tag with instructions) 1/2 C Citric Acid (bought mine online but some wine stores carry it) 1 C Baking Soda 3/4 C Cornstarch 1/4 C Sugar (I used Baker's sugar, it's more fine) 6-15 drops of food coloring (depends how much color you want) 10-20 drops of Essential Oils (Again depending how much fragrance you want) Spray bottle that mists a fine spray. (I used Tim Holtz sprayer) Silicone Ice Cube Trays (I used Star shapes) Makes 12 squares or one tray depending on shape. Directions are to use 2 fizzies per bath. Sift together using a flour sifter or sieve mix Citric Acid, Baking Soda and Cornstarch in a med size bowl; Stir in Sugar Add food coloring to spray bottle filled with water. Begin spritzing and mixing the dry ingredients. Mix together until you can squeeze a handful and it holds together. The mixture should be similar to making biscuts where it's a grainy texture. If the mixtures begins to fizz, stop..your adding too much water..Mix water and dry ingredients slowly and thoroughly until desired consistency. Add in oil, mixing well with hands. If needed spritz with more water. Once mixture holds firmly together when squeezed in palm of hand, spoon into ice cube trays, packing firmly. Let dry several hours or overnight. Pop out and enjoy.
