My son is getting married next month and we are starting to work on the place cards - my DIL to be has decided on one of the dies that I have but we need a way to make them stand up at the table
Any ideas on what we can do to the back to make them stand up that would be easy and inexpensive?? making about 175 of them
Thank you Diane

I was just at a function where the placecards were a die-cut shape pinned to a cork!
they were SO CUTE!
there was a ribbon tied around the cork and a little silver sewing pin stuck into the die {it was like a Spellbinders pinking-edged circle} with the names on them.
if you can't find corks - how about pinning or glueing them to something else - depending on the theme of the wedding {Formal vs casual}.
otherwise - just cardstock folded into a triangle and glued to the back of the die-cut shape...that's how I'd proceed!
just remember ot make it easy enough to make that many!
good luck!

To spin off on Susan, you could stick them into little bags of rice or bird seed to throw later or popcorn if not.
I made some place hard holder using binder clips, flip them upside down and paint them, would easily do that with spay on. I would just open the metal parts so they don't stick together from the paint. I have pictures if you want to see. Let me know.
I have done big wooden clothes pins as well but 175..that's not cheap.

Like Leslie I have used the binder clips to setup my die cuts. A little double stick tape on both sides with some pretty paper or cardstock on the (mostly black) angled part is what I usually did......but with all the pretty Washi tape out there I can see using it on clip instead. Then there the old stand by of plaster of paris molded in candy molds with a large paper clip stuck into it as it firms up........plaster can be colored while still in a powder.....paperclips come in so many cute colors & shapes these days............flowers can also be added to the firming plaster. There's wires out there that can be twisted to form holders. A Dove chocolate with a pick stuck in it to hold the card / die cut.....or double stick tape the die cut to a small colored condiment cup with nuts or chocolate ........ Diane I hope some of these ideas help you and your DIL to be.... even if it just helps to get the ideas flowing Cat
