Hello there!
I got an email from Susan today asking where the heck I'd been. You guys are so sweet to be asking about me! I missed all of Spring Fling--I was so bummed, but was absolutely slammed that week.
We are in the middle of a huge lawsuit right now regarding our flood last fall. I'm doing a lot of the research and legal writing, trying to save us money. Then we had company for two weeks, DS's confirmation (and I was a teacher), the dog has been desperately ill, planning summer vacation, DH is constantly traveling, etc... I'm so ready for summer and it's still 4 weeks until school gets out!
Most of my web surfing is done on my phone these days while waiting for one kid or another to get picked up and it's hard to follow the MB on the phone. Dani, we need an app!
I've got a horribly busy day tomorrow with vet appts, the commissary, and trying to find graph paper--everyone here is out of it. I'll try to catch up here this weekend. All I've made in the past month are cards. Thank goodness for the Solo Sentiments--they are a Godsend when I need a card fast!

I know! I should have just ordered it from Amazon. But DS needed it right away, so I thought it wouldn't be a big deal. But none of the stores right by me had what I needed, and I was dealing with emergency flooding yesterday.
I live 5 minutes from Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, Walmart, Target... But it rained here yesterday and it turns out some of the landscaping done last fall after our flood blocked some drainage pipes. Landscaping done SPECIFICALLY to fix the flooding issues. So I spent the day dealing with a basement threatening to flood again at any second. And had to cancel our appt with a breeder, too. Grr...
See why I have no life?!!

...See why I have no life?!! Oh, Michelle...you have a life, but it's just NOT the life that any of us would wish for you! I hope that everything (and I do mean "everything"!) improves very, very soon!

Michele, can you make graft paper using excel as a standby? I would format the cells and make borders, then print 8 1/2 x 11.
Hope you have cheery sunny days soon. Take care

Oh Girl you certainly do have your share of life going on..just remember it won't last forever, {hopefully.} Just remember deep breaths..nice big deep breaths and let it out slowly and use the serenity prayer frequently.. Hopefully you'll get back to a slow boring no frills life soon or at be faced with only least one problem at a time

Zoiks! You've got your hands full for sure. I hope everything works out, that you can get the flooding fixed, and that you come to some resolution with the lawsuit.

Oh, Michelle, I'm so sorry you are still dealing with all those flooding issues! And to still have to be worried about flooding again!! Yikes, you must have been beside yourself. And then everything else on top of that. Hang in there, girl. This too shall pass. And thanks letting us know how you are doing. You are missed here. Christy

Thanks for all of your well wishes! I do appreciate it so much. I've missed all my Diva friends! I'm happy to say that the graph paper was successfully tracked down and every store told me "we will get some in this afternoon." Sure. Dollars to donuts, they didn't even know they were out! Tristanznina, that's a great idea about making paper in Excel. I'll keep that in mind. Although we now have enough graph paper to last both kids into their college years! And the basement didn't flood this week. Whoo hoo! Just a bit by the back door and a carpet cleaning will take care of that. Seriously, I'm considering sandbagging that sucker doorway about 4 feet up. But they redid the drain down there last fall and washed all the sand and concrete dust into the pipe. Seriously??? Even I would know that sand+concrete dust was a disaster waiting to happen. Luckily, we got the blockage cleared without breaking up the basement floor. Which was next on their list. Noelle, does the ProBoard app work for Scrapyland? Because my searches don't find SL. I did buy the app! The lawsuit is still marching on. They just won't give up. But neither will I! Big Dog isn't any better, but she isn't any worse. And good news--DD was accepted for the National Junior Honor Society. She was all excited when she came home yesterday. The awards ceremony is Wednesday night, the SIGNET picnic is Thursday night, and I get to see my dear friend on Saturday. Things are looking up! (But still busy!)

Another place to find graph paper on a device you may already own is on the HP PhotoSmart C8180 printer. Touch the touch screen like you were checking ink levels. Under the setup menu there is a heading that reads printable school papers. It is the last choice on the first screen. If that choice is on my printer it maybe on other HP models. Just a thought!

Thanks again everyone. Nothing new to report on the lawsuit. I think it will still be months on that one. The lawyer thinks they are just pursuing it, hoping I will pay and make them go away. Sadly for them, I'm not giving up and I have what I need in writing. Fools! The graph paper has been successfully implemented. DS finished his drawings for his Eagle project and has it approved to move forward. He's putting in a 6' privacy fence around the AC units at the church, complete with landscaping. Now we are working on drafting letters, trying to get the materials donated by a home improvement store. Does anyone have any good fundraising hints? I'm thinking bake sale! And I'm sorry to say that we lost Big Dog on Monday. She was such a good dog--the best I've ever had the pleasure to meet, much less to live with. She was sick for years and really was a trooper. We miss her terribly.

oh Michelle, I am sorry to hear of Big Dog's passing. I know how hard it is to lose our sweet dogs. Hugs to you all I don't know what the lawsuit is all about but I pray it goes well for you. Been through one (lady brought a false claim against our insurance company) and while we knew we'd win, it was a sucky process. Congratulations to your daughter! Vicki

Thanks everyone for the condolences. Our house is so empty, it's just sad. I keep jumping up at noon to let her out and at 5 pm especially to give her her pills. And there's no one to clean up the kitchen floor of all the crumbs!
Last night we went for a walk to the library and the kids were ahead of us. I looked at them, stopped and asked DH, "Where's Sandy?" For a minute there, I thought we had left her at the library! She rode in the kids' old wagon when we went on walks and she would have just waited for us to go back for her.
We are going out looking for a puppy this weekend. I know we are in for a rude awakening. It's been 20 years since I've had a puppy and Sandy was such a good dog. Be ready for some rants about what the new girl chewed up!
