So I think it's this weekend, just wondering how you are all celebrating it? Dine In or Eat Out, Big Celebration or just something Small and Intimate? What gifts are you giving and anything special you have planned?

we bought a new outdoor smoker last week - the thing is ginormous and looks like a new piece of furniture on the back patio. But that was his Father's Day prezzie...I made sure he knew that ahead of time! LOL Anyway - we gave it a trial run last weekend {brisket} and this weekend he's anxious to try some ribs. So that is what we'll be doing. My sister and nephews are coming to town {abandoning their own husband/father in Florida, poor planning on our part OOPS!} TOMORROW  so my hubby will have two kids, two nephews, and two sisters in the house! WHOA NELLIE - he doesn't really know what he's in for!!! We're having our recently widowed neighbor over for dinner on Sunday afternoon, as his kids and grandkids are far away. So we'll watch some baseball, fire up the smoker all day, and let dads lounge in the recliners! Hopefully - a great day for everyone! What are you guys doing Leslie?   |

Well just low key..that's my kind of hubby. We just bought a kayak for our 22nd anniversary (gift to each other) so maybe take that out early in the morning at a nearby resivoir and then just kids + grandbabies over for dinner (bbq of course and in 90 degree heat, ugh) and I think that is pretty much it. Ironically he has a birthday (5th of July) in what 3 weeks so we get to repeat this again..  |
