Awesome tip, Susan~~~You are so right that journaling strips as fat as a glue runner look a little overwhelming on a page! This will work great! Now I can't wait to see the die storage idea! Although I have purchased those Art Bin containers with the magnetic pages...I'm up to 5 already!!!!

Kathy you have FIVE of the art bins? Holy scrap woman! But my idea is for a die-station, but I should have clarified TOOLS! And plates and shims and a trimmer! I'll post a picture tomorrow - sorry I didn't get it done tomorrow. But it'll be worth the wait!!!

Great Q-tip, Susan!! Can't wait to see the die-station! Maybe your son could mass-produce them and sell them through Scrapyland?? Bet he'd do a brisk business!! I'm still waiting for Keith to make me a Washi tape holder like yours, but until the weather's not fit to bicycle in (and he has a pretty broad definition of what "fit to bicycle in" means, LOL), I better not hold my breath... Maybe I need to hit the basement and see what I can do! Gail

hahah - after reading Gail's comment I should clarify that my son "ASSEMBLED" this! And it took serious bribing!!! Last weekend when stocking up on school supplies, I spied THIS ITEM at my local Office Max www.officemax.com/office-furniture/desks-laptop-stands/product-prod2530112 and the second I saw it I KNEW it would be perfect for a "DIE CUTTING STATION". Or possibly a better term would be a "die garage" ? Anyway - I ran home, began the bribing process, and within 40 minutes I had this sitting behind my chair... And notice - it's on wheels!!! So I wheeled it out to the hallway so you could see it better {ignore my 2 assistants this morning, they are always curious when a camera is involved!}... this is the bottom shelf - that I think normally would house a printer maybe? It fits every machine I have... including a stacked file sorter {pic later} for all of the mats and trays and shim! HOORAY! there is a pull-out tray for either more work surface {assembling font titles, or storing scraps from one specific project} but I'm housing my trimmer there... the top desk surface is 16" by 30" so when the Big Shot is sitting this way {rather than the other way when I am cutting} there is still about 2" front and back, and LOTS of work surface...{sorry blurry picture - dog #2 was between my feet} and here is what I'm storing all of my plates and mats and shims in... I labeled the edges of the main platforms, so I can easily grab the plates I need. My metal shim is in the very first front slot, so I can use it with anything! HOORAY - I'm so so so happy with this. Every machine is in one spot, it's movable, and it's efficient storage space I think! Office Max had a $5 coupon in last week's paper so I got it for under $40.

Love your Die Station! What a great idea! I wish I had room for something like that. It would be great not to have everything on my desk. I also love your Q-tip idea! I really need to do more of my own handwriting when I journal instead of typing it out on the computer. I should really try the strip journaling. It always looks so nice on your pages! Karen

OMG!! This is such a great idea... I am so jealous! Love that pull out tray, and the file sorter, and that it's on wheels, and all the space, and the golden retrievers!! Did they come with it or cost extra?? I see a trip to OfficeMax in my future. Gail

thanks ladies - glad you like the idea. The thing that I thought was so cool was that it could be perfect in a very small space. For instance - I am getting ready to leave AZ and head off on a road trip to take my daughter back to college. So I had my dad buy one of these computer desk's for my "room" at my parent's house {yes, even though I have been out from under my parent's roof for over 27 years, and they have lived in 4 houses since I moved out - I still have a room at their house...hahahaha....they even call it "Susan's room"...hahaha - don't judge!!! } that way I can still take my Big Shot and my Cuttlebug {my go to embossing machine} and my stack of plates and mats, and a binder of stamps and my 12" trimmer...and it will ALL be on this little rolling "desk" - instead of on mom's dining room table! HAHAH!!! so I thought it very efficient use of space...especially for those that don't have dedicated space. This could easily roll into a closet or into the laundry room {it's my go to storage space when company comes over - HAHA} when space is need elsewhere! anyway - glad you like it! It's been wonderful this week and I know where all of my cutting plates and mats are!!!! and Gail - sorry but the dogs aren't part of the deal. We are dog-sitting for 18 month old Jada, and Mac is in LUHVE!!!! It's been run-and-chase-and-wrestle-and-tug since she got here!!!

Karen Karen yes yes yes!!!! You need to try some hand journaling!!!! It's a work of art when you leave part of yourself on a page I think - and handwriting stirs such emotion sometimes! I just love seeing handwritten dates and names and stories!!! And well, you know me and strip journaling...easy-peasie-lemon-squeezie!!! HAHA!!! Let us know how it goes, and what you thought of it!

What a bargain! And an awesome idea, Susan! I am trying to figure out how I could get something like that into my scraproom, because I agree that having everything 'die' centered would be so much more efficient. I think I have to move so I can plan for a bigger space and start from scratch with the re-design! Thanks for sharing that idea here!
