No party for us, but it goes without saying that we love the cycling events - course they're not all that popular, so sometimes they're hard to find!! Gail

There aren't any particular favorites here, although diving and men's gymnastics will probably be watched. As for women's gymnastics, watching the balance beam competition scares me silly...I've seen too many awful falls!
But Winter Olympics are another story...I love the skating events!

Love the olympics. Watch as much as possible. Wasn't terribly impressed by the opening ceremonies. We have three channels of olympic coverage in Texas. Cycling has been on yesterday morning and this morning. Barbara

I LOVE the Olympics too!! Though I haven't caught any yet, I was out of town for the weekend. Catching up now on events. My faves are: WOMEN'S SOCCER, swimming, gymnastics, track/field, hmmm....I guess I"ll pretty much watch anything!! I was going to grow up and be an Olympic athlete, you know..... It was my dream... (sigh!) Pam

I am also a die-hard Olympics follower! Every year, I batten down to watch as much as I can! Love the swimming and diving events, gymnastics, cycling, women's soccer, and track races. It is so uplifting to see what these amazing athletes achieve with their dedication and hard work! I was up and down during the opening ceremonies. While I understood what they were trying to do in the beginning, I found it disjointed, and the children's scenes with the nurses and ogres was disturbing! But it got better, loved the music ('my' music, LOL) and the amazing fireworks. And the gorgeous shots of the city....I haven't been there since 1996 so it was fun to see! Now if the Queen had just cracked a teeny little smile.........

I won't say I am a die hard but I do enjoy watching them from time to time. For some reason this year I find that I am actually watching more of it, not sure if it's because nothing else is on or it's the time they are on..whatever is I am enjoying it.

I was really really really looking forward to seeing the opening ceremonies but I have to say it was a let down for me. I thought that the best part was the symphony with Mr. Bean (aka Rowan Atkinson). Too funny! To be fair though, I do prefer the Winter Olympics to the Summer Olympics but I am enjoying diving, rowing, swimming and gymnastics so far - it will be exciting to see the Canadian woman's gymnastics team in the finals, a first! They are not medal contenders but what a feat for them to have made the finals...

I think you are going at exactly the right time, Leslie!!! The Thankgiving holiday people will be leaving as you are arriving, and you should have the park 'all to yourselves'!! We went the first week of December last year, and it was AWESOME......decorated for Christmas and NO LINES!

It will be exciting to see all the new stuff in California Park My sister in law goes several times a year and she said that there has not been much down time there this year. It has been busier than usual, but I don't care- I am always happy to be there!!! The only part I hate is the traffic in LA!! Cindy

Yep, but still keeping my fingers crossed crowd levels won't be as bad as they have been. I've been to HW both times had bigger than exepcted crowd levels..couldn't believe it.
So looking forward to all the goodies too!..Lots of new things to try from Cars Land and the Carthay Circle. And of course Christmas time treats

Going back to the Olympic topic: while I thought much of the opening ceremony was a bit odd, I really loved the closing ceremonies! Fabulous dancing, music, color....I feel a page coming on from all that inspiration!! What did everyone else think?
