I have a nice 4 day weekend, dh is off tromping through the woods and I am pretty much alone...exceptfor the pitter patter of my 20 y/o's feet..not sure how much he will be around with work and gf.
Contemplating taking my gs for 1-2 days to give my dd a break..as much of a break as one can have with a 2 weeker. But the greedy scrapper says eh..scrap time..Woo Hoo!
What does everyone have planned if anything?

I am still in "purge mode"...thinking that I should move out a bunch of stuff to make room for the 80-million gazillion new items that Dani mentioned!

Leslie, my LSS, Beach Scrapbooks, is having a consignment sale. This is the third year they've done it, and it's a great way to get rid of cast-offs. Here's how it works: I pay a small fee (I think it's $12 this year) and get a seller number. I gather up all my unwanted "stuff", package and price it, and attach a label with my number. Then DH and I load up my van, and bring it to the store. Here's the beautiful part - I don't have to be there for the sale!!! ;D The store employees and volunteers set up the merchandise in their classroom, and keep track of sales via the cash register. The sale runs Fri through Mon, with all remaining goodies half price on Mon. Anything that doesn't sell is donated to charity. I get a gift certificate for the $ amt of sales, less 10% of the amount over $100. Last year I earned $425!!! What a win-win!!! If you have an LSS, see if they'd do something similar. It works well for the store, since they get new customers, and get to profit from our sales. We're just happy to get rid of old stuff, and get to buy new stuff!! Gail

Oh Gail that is awesome!!! Our LSS had "yard sales" like that and I never participated now they are gone I wish we had something like that here! Sadly my washing machine overflowed into my craft room yesterday!!! I really want to play in there all weekend but it smells sooo bad!!! I have fans going and it is drying slowly. I hope I can get in there soon!! Otherwise, we might BBQ on Monday and swim the rest of the time. Cindy

helllloooooooo weekend! well, working weekend I should say! You see - Dani has this big-huge-uber secret surprise that I guess is revealing itself on Sunday afternoon/night?!?!?!? I think I"m somewhat involved in that. Then - a little teal and lime green birdie told me that there is a DV release Sunday night as well {first Monday of the month ya know!} So I am going to be scrapping on Friday night, and enjoying some girlfriend time. Saturday I will be preparing a blog post or two {or three}, and trying to get prepared for a neighborhood bbq as well. And I'll be watching the Cornhusker season opener and hoping for a glimpse of the marching band! Sunday I will be frantic like I always am on release days - hahaha! Then Monday I'm going to sit and watch chic flicks all day long!!! I'm not going to even talk to the boys - I'm outnumbered and they are wearing on my patience. So I've commandeered the big tv and the Netflicks and the remote and they have to leave me alone! HAHAH!!!

Susan....Aaahh that's right it's football season.. Gail I think our LSS does something like that I just always seem to forget. Most of the time I donate to a church or some kids function. I have realized my stockpile has grown a bit and there is a box that has been sitting on my floor forever that I would like to get rid of.

About once a month I get where I've had enough of "their TV Shows" and I take over the big TV. I'll spend all day crafting and watching re-runs of my favorite shows. (NCIS ) Cat

Good for you, Susan....good to take some 'you' time once in awhile!!!!! Rejuvenates the soul! My older DD is here from California for the week, so it has been a whirlwind so far of her reconnecting with her sister and her kiddos (my sweet grandies). A day at Hershey Park, an Eagles football game (I love football!), a trip to a vegan restaurant (older DD is vegan)......but today she is in NYC so I have a 'day off' and hope to do a little scrapping with the adorable LaLa Land dies I just received in the mail. Or maybe something with some of the newest Spellbinders I just got. It's rainy here in PA, so a great day to scrap. Tomorrow DD returns and I am having a cookout for her, one of her high school friends and family, and other DD and family. And the purge gene must be in the air. I purged last week, too. I sent some things to a friend in Canada, and the rest went into my yard sale boxes in the basement. We used to have TWO lss who did the yard sale thing like Anna described, but sadly, both of them folded last year and now we have none. I miss them. Hope everyone has a wonderful time doing whatever they love this long weekend!
