We use scrappy stuff for gift decorations mostly. Usually that means tags but we have used border die cuts as wraps over craft or other solid papers.
I will see what pictures I can come up with when I get home tonight.

Last year, I made cute little gift card booklets for "dinner & a movie" out of toilet paper rolls and my scrap stash. The gift cards fit perfectly into the flattened toilet paper rolls! I think Susan had put up some pics of one last year. But if not, I can add some later.... Pam P.S. I just found my blog post that Susan did with the "Dinner & a Movie" booklets. You can see it here www.scrapylandblog.com/blog-home/month/may-2012?currentPage=2

I used my borders for giftwrapping last year, I think I shared a couple of pictures here. I've been using my dies to cut fun foam for seasonal outdoor decoration, I think since I bought my first Sizzix dies back in 2003. This is what I did with the LC and Spellbinders snowflakes last year:

Tags for gifts, usually just a simple tag punch with hand written message but occasionally I will make an elaborate tag with christmas dies, ribbon, etc
I have made gift card holders of all sorts, books, cards, whatever to make the gift card look more impressive
Once I was out of tape so I used scrapbook glue to wrap a gift LOL
Ornaments
Banners
small favors for neighbors, kids parties, friends

Well I usually just make cards, but did make these name tag holders one year. I did numbers and then had people draw a number to determine their seat. This way I didn't have to worry about seperating couples, etc

Barbara, now that you've posted it again, I remember seeing that gorgeous border used for wrapping. Beautiful! And I love the idea of using fun foam to make things that will hold up outdoors - that is brilliant!! I have two small prelit pines I put in urns on the front porch - they would look lovely with snowflakes on them. I am definitely ahem, "borrowing" this idea!! Thanks! Leslie, those placecards are such a cool idea - no seating chart for the hostess to create! I was amazed that you found binder clips in Christmas designs, until I realized you covered them with PP - genius! Another idea to lift! Thanks! Hope everyone has a happy weekend, with at least a little scrappytime! Gail

I have used Leslie's idea to hold photo's and to decorate tables with snowflakes & different die cuts to set around. Binder Clips are a necessity for me when doing table decorations for baby showers, birthday's and such at work. I've colored turtles, Noah's Ark animals, cowboys, baby animals, and used them to decorate these tables. I make them 6" to 12" tall and cut out around them---covered my big binder clips like Leslie did---stand the little handles up and tape (double sticky) your picture to the handles---use a flipped image on the other side on some of them. Using blinder clips allows me to set these pictures all around the area without damage to the office furniture and where there are no walls and the ceilings are very high.( I have had to change to the removable tape for baby showers though because the moms-to-be want all of the pictures for baby books, and to decorate the walls in the baby's room.) Gail, I didn't mean to high-jack your Christmas decorations, but Binder Clips are so much fun to experiment with and come up with all kinds of different uses for them. I thought some of you might have the same problem I've had about coming up with decorations for work & not causing damage, no walls & high ceiling. Cat

No worries, Cat! I love to hear new tricks!! I use binder clips all the time at work - for their intended purpose. How dull! Using them as little stands for photos, cards, placecards - it's such a wonderful idea. I'm going to gather up some scrap PP today and experiment... In the past, I've spent a lot of time and $ looking for cute patterned clips to use. DOH! What adhesive do you use, since you're adhering to metal?? Guess I'll try a few from my stash and see how they work! Thanks everyone - I love sharing info on the MB like this!! Hope others are enjoying this thread too! Gail

I found some itty-bitty binder clips a while back (can't remember where I got them!), attached them to ribbon, and clipped tags to them to make a garland for a mantel decoration. I wrapped the ribbon aroung the inside of the clip (the part that would stand on a table...as Leslie did) to keep them from sliding and bumping in to each other. By wrapping, rather than taping/glueing, I could change the tags and/or the ribbon for other colors.
But now I think I should go find them again and make them pretty with PP!

Gail, I used scor-tape--a thin strip on both sides close to the little silver handles---run tape the width of the clip---attach paper on one side then wrap around to other side. Sometimes I have even removed the little silver handles by squeezing them and tucked my paper a little way in to the rolled part of the clip then replace the handles.
Before scrap booking paper was popular; I had a scout troop we removed the handles and spray painted the clips and decorated with painted dots, and other designs. I love using the paper so much better---unlimited designs and colors. I've even used lace & ribbon.
Of coarse ribbons, twine, and colored wires tied to the handles can change the look even more.
Have a blast playing and be sure and look for the giant size blinder clips (office supply stores) to play with too!!!!

Diane, I've tied ribbon to one of the silver handles of those tiny (paper wrapped) clips. I cut the ribbon at different lengths and bunched them together with a bow and hung tiny things to them for a gift package or gift sack. (loose diaper pins, pacifiers, tags, rattles, etc.)
Tied several to a piece of twine and hung family pictures on a small bulletin board--- but I've never made a banner with them. I'm thinking that my next binder clip project.
Oh, what about using the larger clips tied to a cord hanging in a corner with stuffed animals in a kids room or story books (golden books)
Ok now y'all got my wheels a turnin with ideas!!!! I may have to join Gail in playin with binder clips again.

You know I just had to share, so everyone drew numbers and ironically my husband and I both ended up at the same table and at the heads..talk about fate..LOL and here I was trying to get away from that whole traditional seating arrangement.

Barbara, love how you have used those holly vines and snowflakes!
Leslie, those place cards are awesome! What a clever idea to mix people up in a novel way! Did they get to take them home? I wouldn't want to give them up---LOL!
I usually just scrap, or make cards with my stuff...but I have made mini albums as gifts. This year I am thinking about doing one of those printers' trays, though!

If you do a printer tray, Kathy, would you post a photo here?? I must admit, I bought one a long time ago, and can't figure out what to do with it!! So it sits in my stash, lonely and plain! Gail

All great ideas! I am hosting Turkey Day this year maybe. My sil just had her appendix removed, and I think that would be too much for her to pull together! I might steal the place card idea with numbers.
