So my poor sil just had emergency surgery to remover her appendix, and she was supposed to host T-Day. So I have decided that is just too much for her, right? I am just worried about pulling it all together in time for the big day. Also, I am hoping that I don't overstep by asking her to help by hosting at my home. Anyone have this type of surgery? Do you think she could host in two weeks?
What do you all have planned for Thanksgving? Where ya going? Menus? Hoping I can steal some ideas since it has not been on my radar, but I gotta pull it together...and fast!

Thanksgiving at Moms as usual. She lives in a tiny 2 bedroom apartment and there are about 20 of us that show up!! It is crowded and so fun!!! we make so much food but always seem to have so much left over!! Some of us go to Moms on Wednesday to make pies, apple cherry pumpkin. Then everyone brings some sort of side dish on Thursday. My sister makes squash with stuffing in it, not sure how but its delicious. I do not have any special recipes- just the usual mashed potatoes, turkey, beans... I cannot wait Cindy

Well funny you should ask, I usually am just a guest somewhere and I thought this year since I was going to Disneyland afterwards would just show up somewhere and be blessed that I didn't have to worry about it, until my DD called me yesterday..um oh yeah Tday..that's just in 2 weeks, whoops I was seeing the day as a point to get past in order to go to DL..so guess who just ended up hosting the meal for my family. That'll teach me.
So no menu planned as of yet but am sure will have all the normal staples within reason.

so guess who just ended up hosting the meal for my family. Oh I love Disney all setup for the holidays. You are a brave lady. That is a lot in week, all fun though. Hopefully you don't have too big of a crowd to cleanup after before your big trip!

Some of us go to Moms on Wednesday to make pies, apple cherry pumpkin. That sounds like so much fun. What a great idea to all get together and do it the day before!

I'm with Diane! No dishes to clean! We were going to have it at home but decided we really enjoy having Thanksgiving dinner at the Airport Sheraton in Portland Or. Always a great menu and everyone gets what they want! Rey and mom usually have salmon while Ana, the kids, and I have turkey
