what's everyone planning to do this weekend??? We are NOT doing a turkey this year {at least I'm 99.9% sure we're not} so I don't have to buy a turkey to start it defrosting in the fridge. However, I have a TON of pomegranates to deseed. A friend's tree was bursting at the seems this year, and I was the beneficiary of the overflow fruit!! I'm also trying to get a huge stack of Thanksgiving cards done, that should go in the mail on Saturday, but hmmmmm, may or may not from the looks of things. Also have recipe pages to complete...and darn, there is basketball practice and a concession stand that I'm in charge of starting the Monday after Thanksgiving! YIKES! A week from today is Black Friday - are y'all ready for that? GOODNESS, the stores are already pumping things up BIG TIME! I'll be sleeping in however! HAHA! Have a great Friday ladies...I hope you have something fabulous planned for your weekend!

Well since I am cooking unexpectedly and am working all day Wed plus have a hair appt that night, am going to make my pie crusts and apple pie filling and refrigerate so just have to assembel Tday am. And whatever else I can get away with this early in prep time, I guess set the table would be good too.
Nothing else really planned. I don't buy my Turkeys frozen so no worries about doing anything with that until Wed AM (before I go to work )
I really need to keep pushing on getting pages done for my oldest dgs car album so will try to do that..plus I need more page protectors. I am nearly done but still a dozen or so pages still are waiting. Plus I still owe him a blanket so I guess I will try and focus on that.
I don't do Black Friday shopping so will just start getting things ready for my Disney trip the following Mon.
Sounds pretty boring huh (other than the trip, LOL)

No big plans for the weekend...DD is home with a raging cold, and from the looks of things, DH and I just may be next in line! It could be a lot worse...it seems to be a 2- or 3-day ailment, so all the germs should disappear by Thanksgiving. And, speaking of Turkey-day, like Susan, there's no turkey defrosting at our house either! DH is not a huge fan of turkey (and not wildly willing to bend to tradition ;D), so we go to the coast, where DD and I will be traditional, and DH will opt for seafood. And there's no kitchen-full of dishes afterward!

This weekend: Friday night - Dinner and Breaking Dawn part II with the girls from work. Saturday night - last showing of Wizard of Oz put on by the high school kids. Sunday - relaxation and football! I can't wait for it all!! A fun weekend planned!! Pam

My weekend is full, full, full!! Tomorrow: hair appointment (my roots are taking over!), paperwork for the office, online training for the research center, start prepping Thanksgiving (we're driving to my FILs, but I'm trying to get some things made ahead of time). Work on the recipe exchange if any time left!! Sunday: Finish work on the recipe exchange, and get books packed and ready to ship. More Thanksgiving prep. More paperwork. Clean house and do laundry. Monday: (I took the day off - thank goodness!!) Finish cleaning and food prep. Pack and load car. Mail recipe albums. Tuesday: We're heading out!!! Now I'm sorry I typed this out! It seems worse than I thought it was!! I'm sure there'll be time in there somewhere for a glass or 2 of wine!! ;D Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!! Gail

Well, its been a little of a crazy day. My mom was admitted to the hospital last night and is still waiting discharge. So, instead of doing my Thanksgiving cards, I am going to head down to my parents house to help clean and get some things ready for Thanksgiving.
We are still doing Thanksgiving at my parents house, but I know my mom will want to do a ton of cleaning and shopping before so I am going to go do it for her and she can sit and do nothing.
Hoping to get some football watching time in as well.

Oh, Katie, so sorry to hear about your Mom. Hope she's doing better. How sweet of you to go over there and get things ready for Thanksgiving! Sounds like the best present you could ever give your Mom!! She'll be delighted to get home and see you've done all that work for her! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving with your family. Diane, that list just got a little smaller, since I won't need to finish the recipe books before I go. ;D I'm not being sarcastic when I say this - THANKS to those of you who got me off the hook!!! Cindy, have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I hope you'll share the shower decor with us here on the board. One of my favorite parts of visits to my FILs is the Zappo's Outlet which is just a few miles away. The outlet prices are already low, but on BF, they take 80% more off the outlet price! It's a madhouse, but its the only BF shopping I do! Getting to indulge my shoe fetish - priceless! Gail
