okay ladies - I posted this last-minute {as usual...my goal is to change my thinking so I do things 30-days in advance instead of 7 days in advance!!}. I know, last minute doesn't always work for everyone - but I got a couple of GREAT pages submitted...and I have big new for them!
Miss Christy sent me this great page, based on the Starting Blox and expertly turned into a two-page spread...
A couple of things to notice about Christy's page...the Whispers she used!!! She picked "Spring Scene", "Summer Scene" and "Winter Scene" and tucked them under the photos. But she mimicked the left side and the right side, so half of the die is shown under the left side, and the opposite half is shown under the right side. BRILLIANT!
And for her 12" border treatment...can you see what she used??? The DV Pennants! Oh my gosh - I love this look! It's like a sideways chevron treatment, elongated and colorful! Layer upon layer, angled toward the center gutter of the pages...SO AWESOME! As for her fonts - she used the Milk & Cookies font and shadow! {I love the "shy shadow" of this font-and-shadow set!!!!}
Thanks Christy for scrapping when you were slightly under the weather last weekend!!! Your page is wonderful! {And congrats on the new wheels!!!!}
Then Miss Pam sent in not one, but TWO pages...
a 12"x12" page of her son's freshman year! Great pictures, but lots of them just snapshots from afar. This proves that pictures don't have to be portrait quality to scrap them! Group shots, shots from the bleachers, and pictures from mom's cell phone are ALL scrappable!!!! She used an amazing mix of fonts - Tee Time and Downhill, and her favorite Lucky Scallop as a Whisper to tuck under her pictures. And check out her "embellie cluster" - a Lotta Lime font, with a Saxaphone Sweet Petite, plus a circle punched pattern paper soccer ball, all dangling from some baker's twine. What a neat, and simple, treatment!! LOVE IT!
Page 2 from Pam...
This 8.5" x 11" page is for her holiday album! Her kiddos, with some great patterned papers, plus a Sweet Spot stuck to the exact same Lucky Scallop from the page above! And the font - Mister Micro - she rocked this title with a ton of little itty bitty letters!
Lovely pages ladies, great scrapping, super pictures - and they're DOCUMENTED and DONE! Hooray for you!
Now for the big news - to say "thank you" to these ladies, I will be displaying their pages at our Die-Versions booth this weekend in California - CHA baby - but there's more!!!
Dani is heading into the warehouse tomorrow morning, and he's selecting ONE BRAND NEW 4x4 FONT, and ONE BRAND NEW E------ E---- and he's sending them of each to each of you!!!!! You'll probably have a CHA die before they go live on the Scrapy Land or Die-Versions site!!!!
HOORAY for playing along! THank you ladies! I am anxious to share your pages, and show the world that great pages can be made with wonderful American-made dies!!!!
Let's hear it for Christy and Pam!!!
I will do my best to post pictures of the booth set-up, and show how we're displaying their pages!!!!! Please stay tuned to the Scrapy Land Facebook page for the most current updates!!!!
