Ladies as some of you may know I am hosting my dgs 2nd birthday party and it's a dinosaur theme so have cut out T-Rex footprints that I want to adhere to the ground to lead the path to my house from the sidewalk...do any of you have any ideas on what to use? I have about 10 of these 8.5 x 11 sized prints.
I was thinking spray on adhesive but not sure if that would work or not..anyone have any ideas..TIA

What material did you use to cut out the dino-feet? Will weather be a factor in what you use to adhere them? I hope you'll take pictures, because this sounds like a lot of fun!

I used some cheap cardstock..black. Well I live in San Jose, CA and weather may or not may be a factor..yet. So far we are only in the mid 50s low 60s..I have heard chance of rain but around here that could mean a sunny day too.. I guess if rain seems likely I can cover with plastic wrap. Oh yes, plan on taking photos of everything. Already have the water bottle labels up on my blog and tomrrow is the refrigerator magnets that I am giving out as party favors (no dino theme there though). Friday I should have the table and some of the other items.

Can't wait to see pics....your son is going to be so excited! Did you see that cute new dinosaur die in the store? I would test and see if the spray adhesive will adhere to your sidewalk. Another thing you might try would be the dimensional pop dots...those babies stick to everything in my experience. Or some of that wall putty they sell to hang pics on the wall without marring it might work. Good luck. If it's not windy, maybe they will stay down all by themselves!

OH WAIT!!!!!! IF you cut out the footprints, you should have a negative shape - right??? SPRAY CHALK!!!!! I did this for years with my kids - I'd do spray chalk boot prints for Santa, bunny paw prints for the East Bunny, and yes, dorky mom me, I even did turkey prints one year for Thanksgiving {it didn't go over very well - but they were on to me by then!!} HAHA SO recut some dino footprints, but keep the negative shapes. If you're just using cardstock you'll need several, because the spray chalk will kind of destroy each one. 1 teaspoon of washable tempera paint 1 cup of hot water 1/2 cup of cornstarch squirt of dishing liquid 1 clean spray bottle add cornstarch to one cup of hot water, whisking well to get rid of all lumps. add one teaspoon of washable tempera paint, and one one squirt of dishwashing liquid. Mix well Pour into your spray bottle and shake well. If your spray bottle sits for very long, shake it again before spraying. I would think for dino prints you could get away with just one color - white or dark gray? And go to town. Seriously it's so fun...and it just hoses down the next day with bubbles all over the place. If I ever had slight staining {one year bunny left fuchsia footprints} it would come off with a little scrubbing from the push broom!}. Everyone will love it - and a great photo op is always the birthday boy standing ON one pair of footprints!!!! Just keep moving, or replacing, your footprint masks, and you'll be just fine!!!

Oh My Gosh!!! I Love Susan idea!!! Wish I'd known that recipe when my kids were growing up. I used plain old sidewalk chalk ----it worked but was bad about smearing. I know whatever you decide to do your DGS will have a great time at his party! Cat

Well dang it all Susan where were you before I cut out 30 footprints Alas I just cut them out 2 at a time..didn't take too long and I adhered them using my ATG. I posted pics on my blog of the party decorations. And I saved everything because you know I will have to do this again for my youngest grandbaby..

Thanks for the {love} ladies. Well dgs is only 2 and extremely shy so he wasn't taking to much in but did seem to enjoy those footprints.
The dino on the water bottle was a downloaded clipart.
I will be hosting myown 50 and Fabulous birthday part at the end of April but this one will be outside in a park with hopefully ~30 people.
Black and Pink is the theme and already have ideas for shirts for my family and thinking tissue balls in the trees but if anyone has ideas for things to do, etc..feel free to spin the web ;D
