6x6 pads..ladies I need to rethink my 6x6 storage options.
Clearly I have outgrown my current system which is stacking them on an adjustable shelf that is part of a nice pretty cabinet my hubby made which is mounted to my wall above me so I can just do a reach and grab (all my paper, both cs, and pp sits in these cabinets) and I just don't have any more height to adjust to accomodate these pads.
What are all of you doing..share please.

I do not have too many 6x6, but I have them in a decorative box on top of my cube storage shelves. I dig through it as needed. I also am always looking for fun new ways to store stuff.

OH OH OH - I have a great idea! I have this little folding mini laundry hamper that we have used the last two year sat CHA for all of our cut paper. I liked it so much that when I got home I grabbed one from Joanns, with a coupon of course, and it was under $5 I think. I will post a picture tomorrow - it's almost dark here - but this little guy works SO NICELY for the 6x6 pads. I just love the little pads of paper, the DT was asking if we should do a challenge about how to use 6x6 pads because they are so easy to hoard. But I figured it would just turn into a bunch of cards?? What do you think??? I use mine mainly for cards, but sometimes pages when I need patterned POP!

Leslie, I have my pads 6x6 pads stored on adjustable shelves too! Only difference mind are behind the bedroom door. Same width and height as the door; with barely enough depth to have 6 inch (deep) shelves and the door still work right and not hinder the enterway. My scrap area is in the small spare bedroom my girls stay in when they come home to visit so I used every square inch for something. Susan, I can't wait to see your mini laundry cart and any other storage ideas anyone else has. I'm in the process of trying work storage out for all of my craft area so everything is easy to find.

Cat I love your idea behind the door, but am afraid of what my dh would say if I did that but like you I have a 10 x 10 room and part of it has a window seat..another nice addition my dh did..I put cabinets underneath and on the sides. Susan yes please post a picture, would love to see some options. Personally I am just taking this as a sign to purge and clean my shelves.

oh to heck with it - hahah - I just uploaded pics to Photobucket and will add them here. My darn computer is NOT cooperating today, I think I need to step away from it before I do something I'll regret {my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist is too handy and too tempting}. PICTURES of my little case to store 6x6 pads in... There are 31 pads in there now, and I would guess another 10 or so would fit nicely and still allow room for flipping. It's really handy and easy to pull in and out from under my work surface. It's sitting on a drawer under my table, so I just grab it out and set it on my lap while I flip through papers and/or pads. Hope that gives you an idea....Joanns with a coupon, I picked it up a couple of weeks ago for under $10

okay I am measuring it opened of course, and full - and I am just measuring the wood: in picture #1 - the wooden "X" is 10 3/4" wide and it stands 9 3/4" high; it's 15" deep the lime green {!!!!} fabric compartment is 7" wide so there is nice wiggle room for your 6x6 pads, and it's about 12.5" deep at my Joanns there was lime green {!!!!}, black and a print of some kind. At my store they were back in the far corner, behind where all of the lamp finials, curtain rods and hooks and tie-backs are and near the Ott lamps. In that corner they have a bunch of paper covered cardboard boxes and trays and drawers, and a variety of wire containers. Oh - mine is a Joann's Etc. if that makes a difference... hope that helps Leslie!!!

Oh thanks Susan! I think a couple of these cuties might come in handy at my house----or maybe three or four. I think I could use one under my bathroom counter (very small counter and no drawers) for control management. Hugs Cat

Well I'll be a headin' to my local Joann's tomorrow! I think I can find a few uses for one or two of these. Where do you come up with all these great ideas? Thanks Susan for sharing! Karen

Cute way to store your 6x6s, Susan, if you have the space! I just stack mine on a shelf in the closet in my scraproom. It is a double wide closet with folding doors. My DH installed 4 heavy duty shelves across the width (like 6 feet) and I store all my albums, refills, 6x6 paper pads, adhesive refills etc. in there. Under the bottom shelf I have multiple drawers which are great places to store goodies. But I , too, have multiplying stacks of 6x6 pads. I have used them recently to make 12x12 pages, using 4 to make a block...and they look cool, especially on a double page layout! I would love to have a 6x6 challenge. You 'could' designate no cards!!!

You 'could' designate no cards!!! Kathy I like that idea!!!! A challenge to USE your 6x6 sheets...no cards allowed. Okay - going to have to put this on the "idea list" and let it percolate for a little! I'm right now working on a list of stuff {sorry Kathy, I haven't mentioned it to the DT, so you'll hear it here first!! } for National Scrapbook Day - YIKES it's fast approaching!!! Who remembers the first ever "24 hour virtual crop?" Oh my gosh that was so much fun! I don't know if I can do that again, but something similar maybe? With challenges and dares... and of course... PRIZES!

I still remember the first Virtual Crop. Sooo much fun with the divas. If you decide to do another I am in, 6x6 pads and all. I haven't scrap in ages and that should be a good way to start again once and for all.

I remember the 24 hour crop. I slept very little and I think I turned something in for most of the stuff. I got some prizes. I think you drawed my name at 2 am central time and I got a alphabet that I did not have. I will in Iowa this year. Tulip Time is early this year. Spending my May 3 birthday in Iowa this year so no scrapping for the first time. So sad to not participate but oh the memories of 7 grandchildren--fun, fun.

Yes, I remember the 24 hours. My husband said I was crazy to wake up in the mid of the night to see what was going on! (a lot of time-difference your time and my time) I liked it. I should like to do some scrapping together again. Please Susan....

oh wow - look at the comments about the 24-hour crop! OH GOODNESS, the memories! Hahahah - it was crazy fun, and so many people got involved!!!! Hmmmm - wondering, wondering...wondering... Deborah it's so nice to hear from you - sounds like you have lots of fun plans coming up for spring in Iowa! Anke the hardest part of that crop was the time difference for our European Diva friends...luckily it was only for 24 hours - haha! Virginia and Phyllis - I barely remember how I ran it, I think we did new challenges every 3 hours, but for the life of me I can't remember...might have to dig through old posts on the message board to see if I can find a schedule! I'll keep you posted ladies!

Susan, I love the organizer. I might need to get some of those also for my scraps. I have enough patterned paper scraps to organize in a couple of those. I love to make cards and that would be perfect for all my card making scraps

And Leslie you can always pass a couple extra 6x6 pads my way if you want to eliminate the need for more storage area. LOL
