Oh boy this frosting is so delicious!! It is especially yummy on lemon cupcakes!!
1 cup butter 4 cups powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 cup blackberry puree
In a blender or food processor, puree blackberries. Strain through a fine mesh strainer. Discard pulp and seeds. Set 1/2 cup of strained blackberries aside.
In a separate bowl, cream 1 cup butter for 3 minutes. Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time. Mix for 2 minutes before adding the next cup. Continue until all 4 cups are added.
Add vanilla and blackberries. Mix until blended.
Chill for an hour before spreading on cake.
It is delicious on Lemon cupcakes.

tell me, does the frosting look purple, or is it a paler lavender color??? I bet it is delish on lemon cuppy cakes - oh thanks for sharing this!!

It is a violet purple, almost pink.
It is very good with the lemon cake!!! the 2 flavors are perfect together.

I bought the ingredients today...so here come cupcakes and frosting...or maybe frosting first (just to sample it, of course! )

Ooooh Yum. I make something very similar to this except I use Strawberry Puree and frost them on Strawberry Cupcakes. I definitely need to try this one on lemon. TFS
