Anyone have ideas of things to do in either location with 2 teenage boys.. thoughts so far: Quad riding seattle city pass (go to music museum (hubby guitarist), space needle, harbor ride, science museum) pike place starbucks wall of gum anything else we should do?
In the Pike Street Fish Market and Space Needle area(s), you'll need to wear good walking shoes and have plenty of change for parking meters. It is consistently difficult to find nearby parking (unless you just happen to be quite lucky! ), so you'll probably find yourself walking for a few-to-several blocks. Some of the area, but not all, is a bit on the "hilly" side as well.
There's also a very good aquarium that's in this area, although it might not be as interesting to teenage boys, unless they are interested in fish/waterfowl/oceanography.
If you will be crossing the bridge from the east side of Lake Washington, going into Seattle on Hwy 520, be aware that it's a toll bridge, which is operated by camera and you'll get a bill at home, based on your license plate number. My daughter has heard that the fine is quite hefty if the bill isn't paid.
If you have time, try to go north a bit from Seattle, and take a lunch to Carkeek Park. There's an environmental learning center, a wonderful view of Puget Sound, access to a beach, trails, etc.
If you've never been in this area before, you will fall in love with it!
