Here is a pic of one of my storage albums. It is very similar to Diane's file design except I have them in a 3-ring binder (pink of course ) It does get heavy so I may seperate it into 2 books as I collect more dies. Cindy

Thank you Diane for sharing your storage. I decided to give that a try since the binders are not working so well for me. Now if UPS would hurry up and get my Staples order here, I could get started. You know, I have nothing to do right now, it would be a great time to get these organized and wouldn't you know, UPS has decided to come later instead of earlier. Like I've said before, if it was textbooks for hubby, they'd be here early in the am but if I'm waiting for something, they come in the evening Vicki

Dummy me thought she only put 2 packages in the box so I ordered 2 boxes and 4 pkgs of the files. Ha ha ha. I can see I need to order a lot more pkgs of the files. Hubby already thinks I'm nuts, well his exact words oh great, another storage system you'll be taking to goodwill in a couple months, lol. No, I really like this one! Vicki

27 - I just counted the number of folders I have in each file box
They are not all full yet - I have stuck the magnet paper to the cardboard and they are just waiting for dies ;D
I would make a few any time I could get the products on sale/with coupons

so I started re-arranging my dies into this great file system with the clear files but the CC border dies don't fit.. I've kept them in a 12in pencil boxes but they were getting 'roughed' up so I was hoping this new system would work...but it doesn't ..please share ideas where you store your 12 border dies-Sandy

Its dimensions are 7 3/4" x 13 1/4" x 5". I have used this system now since I read the post, and it works very well. I trimmed down legal-sized file folders, and placed a picture of the border die on the tab, so each die is easy to locate. Maybe this would work for you, too?

I use the "Cropper Hopper Photo Case - 864" the dimensions are 13w x 7.5deep x 5h I cut down legal file folders - used my label maker for the names - printed a picture of the die on a sticky address label I have the borders and the Santas workshop mini albums stored this way -Diane

I found the old posting and copied my post above but there are many other ideas
The original posting is on the General Message board under 'Storage ideas for QK border dies'
I found it on page 5 with a last posting date of Aug 17, 2010
I would put a link to it here but I don't know how to do that

Here is the link. I actually found it on page 7. scrapyland.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=6757&page=1I use a paperboard box and leave my border dies in the original packaging with the card still in the plastic. But it's getting really full! I may try taking them out of the plastic and using the file folders. That would take up less room. Or maybe I'll take the magnetic sheets and cut them down to fit the box. hmmmm... I'll have to think about this one.

Diane reposted her photos, but Photobucket seems to be down right now. It does look like a great idea and very portable if you attend crops and such.

...now I need to find a pic of that cropper-hopper box as I'm a visual dork of sorts.. If you search using "Cropper Hopper Photo Storage" it should show up in a few places. The box is opaque with a purple lid. HTH (And BTW...I am much better with pictures, too!

The first time I read this I totally missed Gail's post about the Magnetic sheets on the JetMax cubes! I have a ton of these cubes and this would be perfect! I am so glad I re-read this! I was having trouble finding chipboard to back the magnetic vent covers with and then it hit me when I was in Hobby Lobby yesterday.... The matboard in the framing department is relatively inexpensive and they put it on sale pretty often. My luck is that it was on sale 50% off LAST week! It comes in large sheets so you could get several pages for a couple dollars. I was wondering if the magnetic sheets at oriental trading co are adhesive and if they are as strong a magnet as the vent covers. Anyone know about this? Love all the ideas on this thread and the pics really help!

MB, that's a great idea about the mat board. I found my chip board at JoAnn's in a pkg of 12 x12, 30 sheets. I just cut it down. But I'll bet that mat board is more sturdy.
I was wondering the same thing about the OT magnetic sheets. I've been using a coupon and buying them from ACM, 2 sheets at a time for $4. Then I use spray adhesive to glue them to the mat board. It's working fine, but it sounds easier to use the magnetic sheets with the adhesive already on them. I imagine they are a pain to line up, though.

The mat board is exactly what I use too. I glue the magnetic vents sheets to the board with Tacky glue. It works great but does take a while to dry. So far it has held up to the load.

Mat board what DS is using to glue my vent covers to. He decided me & my craft knife wasn't doing the job fast enough. He took the mat board to a band saw and cut several sheets at one time... (the mat boards are in several different colors since they are scraps from son's friend's store.)......next thing I know he has used a spray adhesive to stick the vent covers on the mat boards. It worked great....especially since I ended up not doing a thing. DS spoils me and the girls doing stuff like this for us. Cat

Cat--- I like the idea of different color mat boards--- you could file by color to help organize--- and retrieve them! I had asked Hobby Lobby if they had their scraps for sale and they said they send their scraps back to corporate and they make them into precut mats. It sounds like you have quite a system with the free mat board scraps and helper!

MB The mat wasn't exactly free.......son traded man power (labor) for the scraps......His friend had sold the building and needed to move everything in less than a week.....so DS & DD#2 pitched in to help......these scraps were headed to scrap heap and DS asked for them. DD#2 ended up with canvas, oil paints and paint brushes for her college art coarses. It worked out great for all of them. The friend was only out a few oil painting supplies and scraps. Plus friend's stuff was moved in two days and no one had to miss their work or classes and DD#2 had supplies for classes and DS had mat board he knew I would use. Cat

Can anyone tell me how the magnetic sheets from Oriental Trading Co. compare to the magnetic vent covers? I like the stength of the magnet in the vent covers, but I would like it to be adhesive like the Oriental Trading Co. sheets and I would not have to cut these sheets down either. If anyone has any experience with these I would love to hear your opinion... Thanks in advance, MB
