Well, with all these QK sales and new releases I've accumulated lots of large Cookie Cutter dies - the Santa's Workshop + Gingerbread album, landscape border, Special Delivery set, nesting Christmas trees, large snowflakes, match box, pizza box, two of the large nesting sets, the belly bands - I'm just running out of wall space to put up more magnetic sheets. Unfortunately I've got only one cupboard in my room, and the doors aren't flat, so no way I could use the insides. How do you all store this abundance of large shapes? It seems to get more and more and bigger and bigger

I have many books that I keep my dies in but the most recent one that I've created is simply and large 3 ring binder. I purchased Susan's vent covers (Home Depot). I cut them down to 8x10 and glued them to the same size sheets of picture mat board (picture frame department). I slid them into extra heavy weight clear page protectors (Office Depot) and into the binder. I can flip through and pull out the die that I need. Cindy

cindy have you posted pictures? I SO NEED THIS! with graduation looming I have a major scrapbook studio redo in my future!! one of the things I have to tackle is figuring out which dies to store in front of me, and which dies to tuck away and then how to remember which dies are tucked away! I'd love to see how your binders look...

I store my CC-dies in a Leitz-Signature Book (Leitz 5700-00-95). With my glue-runner I glued magnet sheets to the inner pages which are made of hard-wearing grey blotting card and it works perfect for the storage of all my CC-Borders, CC-Fonts and all my giftset dies including the Santa's Workshop dies. It has a flexible expanding spine so you have enough room for your dies and the measurement of the book is approx. 9 inches wide by 13.5 inches long and that means no problem storing big and long CC-dies. I hope this helps!

I keep my longer, border sized dies in a paper board storage box that I got at JoAnn Fabrics. I leave the borders in their original packaging and they fit in there perfectly. But... I don't have all the packaging. And the box is getting pretty full. And that doesn't help me with sets like Santa's Workshop that came in a box...
I have a fairly large space on the back of my sewing cabinet where I put up magnetic sheets and I hang my CC dies. I usually rotate my dies around like Susan suggested, putting away sets I'm not using everyday and leaving dies (like the new releases) out. But it's hard to find a good solution for storing those really big dies that aren't on the board. I like Cindy's idea. I may just need to try that out!

I store the large dies that I use a lot on magnetic sheets glued to the sides of my JetMax storage cubes. Sets, borders, and big dies are stored by category in stacking trays from Target. They're part of the Itso line and are usually in or near the closet storage aisle. They measure 13" long by 6" wide, by 2.5" deep, so they'll hold any QK/LC die. I'll post a picture when I get back! I pretty much did the same as the others. I saved a pink 3 ring binder that was destined to be thrown away at work, bought some heavy duty sheet protectors, 12 magnetic sheets (8.5 x 11 @ Oriental Trading Co.), & chip board for sturdiness. I store both my CC and Spellbinder Dies in this binder. I also purchased a collector's card box at The Container Store. This is a clear plastic box that is wider on the top and more narrow towards the bottom. I placed a (retired) Revolution cutting mat right inside and it separates the bottom from the top. I store my 12x12 borders in here. Narrow borders go below while the thicker borders go above. Both of these items we're my lucky finds.
Good luck!

My dies are a total mess. I need help. I use to keep them in the black magnetic folders. Well now the dies are getting too big. They are just laying in a pile in one of my cabinets. I have to sort through all of them to find one. I'm going to Target and Home Depot today and check out the options. Thanks Divas. Katherine

Thanks for sharing your storage solutions Ladies!
At least my borders have a nice home. I keep them in a gift box for wine bottles, which I've covered with a nice floral paper. I think I posted a picture a while ago.
I'd love to see pictures of your homemade binders too. It somehow makes it easier fo find similar product. The selection in European office stores is quite different, and in our small town we have only 3 places left to buy that kind off stuff (we don't have even vent covers as private houses don't have air condition, only radiators or floor heating)
Joselle, I'm pretty sure I can find the Leitz signature books, and I like the idea not having to find sturdy cardboard as well. Do you glue the magnet sheets to both sides of the pages so that the stored dies face eachother? Wondering if this would damage the dies in the long run...

Scrapkatze, I glue the magnetic sheet on only one side of the pages and at the other side I glue the picture of the die that comes in the package. I think too that using both sides will damage the dies on the long run, so I avoid doing that. I'm glad you liked the idea and I hope it will work fantastic for you too!

I also use the magnetic sheets stuck to sturdy cardboard but instead of using a binder I use a file box - I put each magnetic sheet in a clear file folder - the folders have tabs for labeling and are open at the top and on the left side (there is a little flap to tuck under on the left) which makes it easy to get the sheet in and out I have also used this method for my cookie cutter alphabets - they are in their own file box hopefully the pictures are not too large -Diane

Diane! I love those file folders. And what a great idea! I hadn't even thought of using clear file folders/pockets like these. Wow!
Now I have a tough decision... file folders in a file or page protectors in a binder... I'm going to need to think about this one!

I bought a sturdy but inexpensive 12x12 album, 12x24 rolls of adhesive magnetic stuff, and heavy 12x12 chipboard.
I cut the 12x24 magnet sheets into two 12x12 pieces and adhered them to each side of the chipboard. All the large dies fit -- the new pennants, the Workshop books, etc. The pages are large enough to store dies from the same set together.
I used coupons for the album and rolls of adhesive magnet stuff. The vent covers would be cheaper, but I wanted 12x12 pages. It's also handy that the 12x24 rolls already have adhesive on the back.
I got 12x12 heavy chipboard online. When I have an HL coupon and nothing in particular to buy, I get another roll of the adhesive magnet sheet.
I use the QK magnetic books for dies that fit. I have over 60 of them now for my Spellbinders & QK/LC cookie cutter dies --yikes! I keep the borders in a separate box. I made folders for each border and glued the pic from the package to the front of the folder. I store the border embossing folders with the border dies since they're the same length.
As for damaging the dies, the pages are in page protectors, so the dies don't touch. (There's two sheets of plastic between the dies -- the plastic from the back of one page protector and the plastic from the front of the next page protector.) Also, I keep the albums upright, so the pages are not resting on each other. Additionally, I don't get into the books on a daily basis, so there's very little action going on there. I can see putting dies on just one side, but I need to use my space wisely if I want to keep shopping!

Only thing was that I had to buy each clear file individually instead of in a package @ $1.00 each. Thank you so much for post your idea. I am so thrilled, this is perfect for me. I hope I can return the favor sometime.

I would like to share what I do with my cc dies.
First - a warning! I made the mistake of taking a binder out upside down and several sheets and dies just slide out of the page protectors (actually, did this twice, duh!).
I use letter size 3-ring binders, journal size binders and the QK binder box.
For the letter size binder, I use page protector sleeves, magnetic vent covers backed with sturdy cardboard. I also use 5x7 photo pages. I use the "leftover" magnetic material (backed with study cardboard) in the 5x7 photo pages so nothing is wasted!
The "journal" size binders are great! I started to use the stamp storage binder pockets in the binders until I discovered page protectors made for the journal size binders. Of course, the magnetic vent covers and cardboard here too. This size binder also holds the QK 4x8 alpha sheets and the 2x2 and 4x4 sheets.
I have the letter size binders in 2 inch size but have many 1 inch binders. The 2 inch size gets heavy so I will be re-doing everything into 1 inch binders. I plan on putting "themes" together first such as Santa Workshop. The journal size binders have alphas, 2 inch goosebumps and smaller "themes".
I also put the colored package cards/page into a separate page protectors (by its self) on the page before the dies so I can reference what it is supposed to look like! I am a "visual" person and need all the help I can get.
Don't forget, take the binders out right-side up! Saves hunting for your dies!

I just bought some of these yesterday - and for the 6-pack for tabbed transparent files I paid $3.99. So about $.65 a piece. I was super-happy with that price {considering how many I bought}. Now to head to Home Depot today and clean them out of magnetic vent covers - LOL! Maybe we should find out if Dani wants to start carrying clear tabbed-folders and magnetic vent covers!! With everyone's great organizational ideas we all could keep each other supplied with tips and tricks for organizing their die-stash!!!

the clear folders (staples #576460) are for 8.5x11 paper
as far as the magnetic sheets go I have used many different types - the vent covers (at my local hardware store) - a product called Adhes-A-Mag (a 12"x24" piece with adhesive on the back)that I have gotten at Michaels with my 50% off coupons - and the latest one is magnetic sheets that go through laser printers (staples #34747) they are 8.5x11 sheets so no cutting down to size involved
but if you google magnetic sheets or Adhes-A-Mag there are on line retailers that might be a good bulk deal if you need a lot - when I started this system I didn't realize how many I would actually end up with

Meg, that's a great idea, too! Now I'm really, really torn. ;D The curse of having great choices! lol Binders work for me because I have more shelf space than floor space. I like the clear box with clear folders, but the boxes wouldn't work with my set-up. I'm keeping the links, though, because I really like that the boxes hold so many pages/sheets of dies. I may be tempted to make it work for me at some point!

I was at an Office Depot yesterday. They had the magnetic sheets 5 for $9 and they didn't have the clear file folders with the top tab for labeling--only the file folders without the tabs.
I did find the magnetic sheets at ACM, $9 for 3 sheets. But with a coupon, it was a better price than the 5 sheets. I'll stop at Staples next week and see if they have the right file folders.
And now I'm looking for the Jet Max cubes with the file drawer. I need 2 more cubes and I'd like one to be the drawer so that I can keep the dies in there. ACM didn't have the drawers, so I guess I'm stopping at Mike's, too!

If you can't find the file folders in stock at the office supply stores I know that staples has free shipping if you ship it to one of their stores - it has only taken a couple of days and they called me when it came in
