I am finishing up the recipe part, and have he page for the most part done... as soon as I get home Thursday, they should be ready to go in the mail Friday or Saturday at the latest! Gail gets a pass because she's in charge...but UGH I'm embarrassed that I'm so late on this. I will let everyone know when they have posted so Gail can watch out for them... I'm home Thursday morning!!! |

For some reason, work has become crazy busy these last few weeks, and I'm spending much of my time off catching up on paperwork!  Everything's designed - it's all down to cutting and pasting now! Gail, no worries as for as I'm concern. I know the feeling....but as DS says: Life Happens; we just have to learn to go with the flow. (With these ding dang Shingles, he has to remind me of this every so often.) Eh, no worries, Gail. I'm realizing how much life has caught up with me recently as I slog through all the stuff that has accumulated around my house lately. I have company coming and dang I have a lot of clutter around here. It's like a slow motion ambush I should have seen coming! So, I get it. I just spoke with Gail a couple of days ago, and she's on a little vacay with hubby - I think they're playing on the beach this week!!!! Anyway - she told me that when she gets home this weekend, cookbooks are on top of her to-do-list. They will all be worth the wait - I promise you! Gail rocks these swaps, Dr. Swap we should start calling her! |

Ladies, my heartfelt apologies for the many delays in this swap. As Susan said, Keith and I went on a long-planned trip to SC beaches last week, but the true reason for all the delays has been my Mom's failing health. She passed away peacefully on Thursday May 17th. My inclination was to cancel our trip, but my DH convinced me to go, and, as is so often the case, he was right. We returned yesterday, and I feel rested, more relaxed, and ready to get back to some scrapping. I'm typing on a break from finishing up my pages, and putting a few final touches on the cover. Once I receive Susan's pages (which are probably at our post office with our held mail), the books will be assembled and be sent out - hopefully by the end of this week. Thanks to all for your patience and understanding, even when I couldn't bring myself to explain to you what was happening - just too painful at the time to put into words... You are lovely, sweet, talented women, and I am lucky to know you as friends! Gail |

Latest update on cookbook shipping: Covers and my pages are done. Unfortunately, the USPS messed up on Susan's page shipment, and sent them BACK TO HER!!! They are back en route to me on the wings of eagles (or at least the wings of an exhausted sparrow!), and should be here by the weekend. So, books should get mailed first part of next week.  NOTE: Shipping on this batch is ON ME - my gift to you to help atone for the dreadfully late delivery. Those of you who have already sent checks will have them returned with your book. And DON"T ARGUE WITH ME GIRLS!!! I need to do this to assuage my guilt - seriously, you'll be doing me a favor by graciously accepting, OK??? Now that that's settled, have a great day, and apply for the DT!!! You girls have talent!! Gail |

oh Gail - we'll talk about shipping later! Because if you do that to "atone"...what will I do??? I'll need to send everyone lime green sugar cookies, with frosting notes of "I'm a slacker" on each one. It's my fault ladies - Gail and I have just this morning made a pact - I'm forever banned from swaps! No more, don't even tempt me! My intentions are always so good - heck I picked my recipe for this one in Virginia in MARCH! It's just the follow-through I stink at!  Luckily I can admit it - HAHA!! So my apologies - and just in case you've ever though about it - don't use USPS.com to mail a priority package and then use your own packaging...it must be in a USPS priority envelope/box or it will get returned!! Yes, ask me how I know this....  |

Susan...you are forgiven!!!! As for the USPS...don't even get me started! They can get a package from Dani to my front door (that's clear across the continent) in 2 days...UNLESS there's a sub delivering our mail (he doesn't "do" packages) and forget packages on weekends! And I'll accept lime green sugar cookies any time! |

Miss Gail! You have nothing to feel guilty or atone for either!!! ( expect a discussion later Missy ) My 2 cents on the USPS......Oh wait! If you don't have something good to say you shouldn't say anything.....Oh!!!! who gives a care.......rumor has it they are going broke.....well since when has been economical to drive huge full size trucks up and down the street....stopping every few feet to reach over and stick mail in a box.....then go back down the street the other way doing the same thing.......then come back later dropping packages....  ...and don't get me started when it comes to delivery person who is able to jog/ bicycle down the highway in their "free" time but can't even manage to carry the mail / packages to a elderly handicapped persons door. Sorry, I've lost a lot of respect for our area USPS in the last few years. ladies Cat
