I had an idea, I posted it, but then took it off as it might be too much (to place an ad with nothing for sale, just to warn people of what is going on) but, maybe if for those of us who do sell on e, that we write in our description that this is an authentic die, no "C" in front of the number/code? I know if I sell some come winter/spring (that's usually when I get in the mood to sell) I will put that in my ads.
Just a thought

oh that's good to know. I will think about it, I think if I just put "Quickutz retired dies--a must see" that will draw in a lot of people. I have one friend that puts a Christmas card on without selling anything, just to communicate to her many buyers and Friends. so don't think ebay would have a problem with it. I just don't want anyone on this board to think I am too weird. but maybe that's already too late ;D

thank you for giving us an explanation, BUT what you said above is not correct. The die I purchased on ebay from one of your "companies" does not have the RS or KS just like the original. The die itself has C-0030 for the flipper. The packagin has RS-0030. So the information you have is INCORRECT.
Which does not make it the retired/discontinued/rare or hard to find die we THINK we were getting at the time. The problem here is the misleading information / misconception.
So now that we know the above is INCORRECT, it should be mentioned in the listing that these are CUSTOM dies and it should be also stated that is says so on the die itself.
Also sent an email to you in case you don't read this here.

I got dies a die from them too, and it says "C". Also I bought a squeeze from them because my husband can destroy them faster than you can blink and eye. I do believe it is refurbished. The handle goes down way to easy in my thoughts. But I only paid 3.99 for it

My DH and I were just talking about this company and the dies.
It seems to me they are running it like the "Tulip Bubble"
What a shame!

Exactly, they are wrong. They do have the letter C on them. I got the snail (I have wanted the snail for a very long time and got it pretty cheap but I knew that it was a custom die but I do not believe all know that). The die is stamped C-0103 and on the back of the package it says KS-0103. I guess I am not following how stating KS or RS rare retired would protect those like Dani who are selling the originals. I'll e-mail them as well but I did see some of them were now containing pictures of the new packaging but would most people still realize they are not the originals? Vicki

if you are new to the qk world and had no idea of the old packaging, i believe not.
it's misleading. false advertising. and when you really want the die and you have so many seconds left and have no idea that these are out there and want to win, who the heck knows what C means anyway in the last seconds........

Good for you, Hil! I almost got lost in the lengthy "defense"/explanation from this company...maybe that was their intention (to overwhelm us with words). Or, as Shakespeare once said, "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

Good idea! I'm sure we've all seen posts/letters, etc. on other boards that have gotten altered over time!
Okay, I'll admit I've modified some of my posts for misspellings, incoherent sentences, etc., but NEVER, EVER, to cover a lie!
The trick will be to go back to their original post to see if there's a modification/edit note added at any time.

Got a response, heard where they were coming from. I just don't know what QK was thinking in putting one number on the packaging and another on the die. That in itself was not a smart thing. Vicki ps. No one is saying they did a bad thing by getting them, I give them a big good for them, just not great how they are presented. BUT I totally believe Dani would have given us the heads up AT the beginning (just the way he is). If they choose to sell them on ebay, presented in the correct way and they get a bunch of money for them, good for them.

updated-----
Creative services emailed me & didn't realize there was a c on the die itself. CS was talking about the packaging had RS or KS on it.
i just think they should state what the c means, custom.
Barrie - we started on the wrong foot. i'm really a nice person as i'm sure you are too. i'm truly sorry about your friend. life is not fair. and i've had some experiences with cancer in mine too. and i really hope she can get through this. but sometimes people need a release and these are a great bunch of ladies. everyone here is nice and here for everyone, we talk, poke jabs at each other and have fun. Dani is great too.
if you think that this is the worst message board and you've visited 20 of them, then you haven't visited the vegetable yet.
I hope you have a wonderful New Year!
I'm now done with this thread.

Like anything that is reissued, it needs to state that it is a reissued item.
You mention that other sellers put in VHTF etc. but notice most of them are people who bought these dies or don't really know much about them. You will find many post of people on this board that have said things on other postings on ebay.
This seller sells business is selling dies, so they know what is rare, retired, and hard to find.
How about a statement like this in a listing, it would surely make me buy from them with pride for being honest.
Because we know how so many of you would like to own some of the older QK dies, we have be able to have a few them reissued in a small qty. This is a one time deal, so get those rare hard to find retired dies here for half the cost they normall go for.
What I find funny is you state that you read this board and so forth, yet you have never said anything until the seller posted a reply, so with that, are you one that bought into their business deal they were selling on ebay?
I just realized that you Barrie and I have a mutal friend, so I will not go any further with this, but to say.
I hope you have a Happy New Year! May you be blessed with all the riches of QK.
My your friend be blessed with a cure, as I know what cancer does, as it has affected my family more than once. God Bless

I believe that all any of us wanted was a clarification, UP FRONT, and that for avid collectors, that "C" made a difference. Otherwise, who cares?
But, Barrie, if you choose to name-call, you are on the wrong message board! If you have the time someday (and I realize that you do run a business, and that takes most of your time, I am sure), please read through some of the other threads, and see that we are NOT "lonely, vicious, jealous, and just plain awful people", participating in the "worst blog you [sic] have ever seen". Dani has worked very hard to keep this board positive, and for that I am grateful, and I am sorry to see such hurtful remarks being made about anyone!
I am sorry about your friend...believe me I know that is beyond stressful...my first husband died from cancer after a very long and painful battle; a year later my closest friend also died from a terrible, 3-year cancer diagnosis. I can only hope for a better outcome for your friend, and miracles DO happen.
As for me, I too have nothing else to say!

I want to thank all of you for your kind and heartfelt comments. I want all of you to know that I am a very devoted customer to Dani and to this other seller. I have been treated royally by both and in turn have spent wayway more than is reasonable..hahaha...at both stores. I probably have as much inventory as both combined...as many of us do...I have purchased many disc. dies from Dani and the re-release gave me the opportunity to own some of the ones that Dani does not have. All I am trying to point out is if you are unhappy with the dies...then return them. The few that will be sold in this country will have no effect on the rare status. A few hundred in millions of customers is nothing. I know this seller as well as I know Dani and she is not about misleading anyone. I think our comments came at the same time because I emailed her with the blog address so she could explain what it was all about. I would do the same for Dani. I I can see all the uproar if these were knock-off dies...like knock-off Gucci purses. But they are genuine QK dies. I was a Sizzix junkie and was not exposed to the Qk dies until after many of my favorites were discontinued. So for me to be able to get my hands on the mouse and a few others was a dream come true and I'm sure for many others it was as well. Once these are gone..they are gone... I got mine for a great price so I am really happy. I just felt that someone neede to stand up for this seller because she is a good seller and stands behind her sales. A thousand positive comments can be undone by one negative comment....bad news always travels faster than good news...I just thought it was so unfair for everyone to be so ugly without knowing all the facts. I too am done with this....and again I want to thank all of you for your kind comments... Hopefully I can post info that will be of use to everyone from now on...I did post a reply to Anita about understanding her Gazelle and I added some info about A's dies on in that section....I hope it enlightens some of you ....
Peace,love and kind comments.... Barrie

All they have to do is disclose the truth about the dies on the auction. When I emailed my concern I got my hand slapped.

Does anyone have a complete list of all the dies that were reproduced by QK and sold as originals or C-XX-XXX dies?
I know from personal experience that Moby (whale), license plate, kitten, skeleton clothes, seagull, and blue bird are involved in the misrepresentation. I am concerned about several others too.
Perhaps Creative Services would be willing to give us a list of all the dies involved. It would add some credibility to their post that there was not an intent to deceive but rather to give QK addicts an opportunity to own some no longer available dies. If not, I find it hard to believe that their intentions were honorable as they are now attempting to make us believe.
Having a list of all the dies involved in the remake would prevent over paying for dies that are not true originals and bring back some trust in sellers who have been caught up in this deception either intentionally or unintentionally.
All we are asking for is the truth. If this list is not forthcoming, then it would appear at least to me that the coverup is still ongoing.

A list would be great! For those "collectors" who only want the originals, it would help them to avoid disappointment later on, and would go a long way to reinstating trust in the seller, who may not have intentionally meant to mislead anyone.

bird C-RS-0096
seagull C-0040
whale C-0233
license plate C-EVENT-1 The seller gave this one away by leaving the 2008 green card in the blister pack otherwise it would have appeared to be authentic.

mine is a c-event-1 and it is the real deal. i'm thinking it was a custom made for an event and that's why it has a c on it. but it wasn't one of the "retired" ones made again. i think that's an original one you have.
