I've picked out my recipes, paper and embellishments. I even have a layout designed......but I haven't touched anything in over a week. Nothing is cut, glued, stamped or even colored. Sigh...... Cat

Gail do we use all the same paper for our background. Or can we use different colors as long as every thing else is the same. This is my first so please hang in there with me ;D

You can use whatever paper for background you want, and whatever embellies you want. Feel free!
Just try to avoid anything that's too 3D so the book will lie pretty flat, and leave a 1" margin on the left side so I can punch for the binding. By that I mean, don't put your writing too close to the left, cause we don't want to lose part of the recipe... Most embellies can be punched through, so that's not as crucial. Have fun!! Gail

OK, ladies, since we're down to only a month left til deadline, I'm closing out the sign-up, so (drum roll please) our final number is 11! PM me when you need my address. Could you all post here to give me a vague idea (I won't hold you to it! ;D) about how many pages you'll be sending me? I want to get the binding wire soon, and will need to estimate the size. Have a Happy Scrappy Weekend, ladies! Gail

Two pages for sure; three if I my ambition hasn't outstripped my free time (as usual). At least I have a plan and most of my supplies gathered... Speaking of the plan...I think I might I know the answer to this question but I'll ask anyway. Is okay to put an extra recipe on the back of my main pages? The only reason I could see not to do this is if you want the flexibility to group pages by recipe type, alphabetically, etc. Let me know what you think and I will adjust accordingly.
Err, scratch that...how in the world did I miss Gail's suggestion we keep it to single sided pages...sigh, must pay closer attention. Thanks! Christy

Sign me up for 2 pages, Gail. But be warned--mine are simple! I want to close down the studio on Thursday and start getting it ready for the packers. Ugh. I don't like people touching my stuff!

Simple is good, Michelle! I wouldn't let anyone else pack my scrapy stuff if they paid me!! Good luck with the move, hon! Gail

I'll be right there watching them Gail. With one move, I literally saw a packer pick up a drawer and dump it into the box. It had a bunch of DS's (he was 4 then) crafts and art work in there. I actually cried. Then I got his a@@ fired!

I'll be doing 2 pages. You ladies are way ahead of me! Since most of my meals have been out of the microwave lately, you'll be getting a recipe like this from me: 1. Go to wal-mart 2. Walk to frozen section 3. Choose favorite stouffers box 4. Go home 5. Follow directions on box 6. Enjoy!

Whew! What a day! I'm finally going to get to put my cookbook pages together this evening. Most of the parts are cut, the recipes printed, and layouts planned. Just gotta glue and make it all pretty.
I have quite a few things due on the 15th, and--dummy me--I got it in my head that the Design Team stuff was due on the 15th, too. I had to hurry up and finish taking photos of everything this morning to squeak them in by the deadline. Good thing mom called and clued me in or I'd've missed it!
So after dropping of my boyfriend at the airport (going to see his mom on the East Coast), I ran home and took photos. Then realized that boyfriend had his card reader (the one I usually use) with him, flying somewhere over the midwest, so I had run, run, run to Target to buy a cheapy one to use. Back home, skipped lunch, pulled everything together and off it went via email. THEN met up with the family to watch Cowboys and Aliens (fun flick!!!), have dinner, and here now here I am. Saturday's nearly gone!
I hope to have the pages in the mail by the end of the week, Gail. I'll be sending you two recipes, a page each. So that's 22 pages altogether.
Eek! I better get going, then.

It's OK, hon!!! Take a deep breath... Feel better? Good. No stress on the recipes, OK?? Glad you got your DT submission in, that's the most important thing! Take your time, enjoy the process, remember to have FUN. The 8/15 date is more a guideline than a rule. If you're a little late, nobody will mind! I picked the 15th cause I'll have some free time then to put things together, but nothing's written in stone! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and good luck on your DT submission! Gail

Almost done!!! And it has been a lot of fun. The best part is the end when all the little pieces start to come together. Well... the best part will actually be when we get the finished cookbooks in the mail. I can't wait to see everyone's great pages and tasty recipes!
